Well the Playoffs are set, and really other than the talking heads continually stirring the pot I think most people feel like it's a pretty good 4 teams.

I have read some articles that indicate that their is still concern about the committee's outlook on the Conference Championship game and it's value. But really only Penn State has any real gripe, being B1G Champ and winning the head/head with Ohio State. That being said I do think Ohio State is the better team, in spite of the loss to PSU.

The Bowls, to me they become less and less every year. I mean I know it gives teams extra practice time and most players seem to like them since they get a bag of goodies from each bowl and it's become some what of a recruiting tool. I think back to the old days when ND didn't go to a bowl at all and the Big 10 only allowed one team to go to a bowl, the Rose Bowl. Today that would hurt recruiting quite a bit.

I'm not sure of the $$ situation as these teams seem to spend all the bowl winnings on taking boosters, Ath Dept big wigs, etc and spending pretty much every dollar they win on the trip itself. I have read many times that even the bowls with big payouts end up being money losers for the teams and if it's not a big payout bowl then they are definitely money losers.

Also all you have to do is look at the stands for most of these bowls and you'll see a lot of empty seats. It's all about providing content for TV.

I think Jan. 2nd will be a lot more fun than Jan. 1st this year.

Because watching the NFL just doesn't compare to watching college football to me.

Two many Holiday Bowls and it really diminishes the value of the bowl venue in my opinion. Only good thing is a chance to go somewhere at the end of the season for a lot of players.

Looks like the conference championship games may be gone as well, which is a shame. (Assuming an eight-game format develops.

Doesn't ESPN own, or own the broadcast rights, to almost every bowl game except for a few?

Like Terry said, it's just to fill time slots on the TV. It keeps their constant coverage going and gives them reason to put their talking heads going pumping up the title game.. although I believe that game is on Fox, isn't it?
