Big Ten has three spots in the top 5 0f the AP Poll. Ohio State. Michigan and Wisconsin.

The Big Ten has four teams in the top 10 in both polls. Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State.

That has not happened in fifty years!

the funny thing is.... I don't think this is Urban's best Buckeye squad, I don't think Harbaugh is where he wants Michigan to be, but Wiscy has very little offense but an unreal defense and I personally think Penn State is floating on the air of that fluke upset but will get their ass kicked bad when they finally face another real opponent.

I mean, I know I've gone on record as saying that I'll never root for rape state again, but put that aside.

Look at their schedule. They've played 3 quality opponents this year and are 1-2, with that 1 being a fluke blocked kick returned for a TD kinda win..

I think Wiscy can beat anyone because regardless of how mediocre their offense is, you still have to score on that defense and that's not a given.

My point being.. I don't quite think the B1G is the supreme conference in the land, HOWEVER, you guys are really, really close.

    Corey,

Points well taken but we are gaining ground, at least this year.

I live in the middle of B10 country, and I don't think it's the supreme conference in the land. Until proven otherwise, that title still belongs to the SEC. However, I'll take "close". :)

My overall point is that you guys are going to get much better at this rate, and that's pretty scary.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the rise of the B1G sort of mirrors the amount of money the teams get from their BTN deals. It's immense, probably has fueled the facilities improvement across the conference, maybe even allowed a bigger recruiting budget and of course the money for better coaches and better pay for asst coaches. S&C programs, nutritional programs, etc all the things that go into building winning football teams.

BTW I saw something that Bobinski the Purdue AD is likely to introduce the new Purdue coach pretty soon.
