If it means another shot of Bill Murray balling his eyes out, I think the month long party would be worth it.
It was a great series, another title for the NLC! I'd agree with JO'Co by the time the game was over both teams had to be physically and mentally exhausted. Cubs coming back from 3-1 down to win 3 straight including two a Cleveland was really something. The Curse is over! Thing is the Cubs are well positioned to do this again.
Thank you, Bobda. You are a gentleman. Stu, after Davis' HR vs. the best closer in baseball took the wind out of my sails, I was ready to congratulate you. Who could have known how it would end? The emotions of millions of fans of both teams were ramped up. Every once in a while in my long life, I've seen games where it was a shame one team had to lose. Rarely have I been so invested as last night. Today I feel quiet happiness which borders on disbelief, but I also feel sadness and profound respect for the Indians and their fans. The grit and determination of the Indians players was deeply admired by this Cubs fan. I hope you guys get back. I believe you will as long as Francona is your manager. I'll be cheering for you if you're playing any NL team other than the Cubs.
It's starting to be called the greatest game in WS history, better than the '60 Pirates. I don't know about that, certainly Maz's walk off HR in the Bottom of the 9th in a 7th game to win the WS is the most dramatic finish ever and as great as the Cubs win last night was it can't match that moment for dramatic finish. Just a great, great, great series. Congrats to Sid and Wendy and all the NL fans! Even Cardinals fans were excited to see the Cubs win!....well most of them, er some of them maybe!
2016 MLB Payrolls [Spotrac] 1) Los Angeles Dodgers $253,639,162 2) New York Yankees $227,854,349 3) Boston Red Sox $199,864,178 4) Detroit Tigers $199,525,500 5) San Francisco Giants $171,464,943 6) Chicago Cubs $167,444,167 7) Los Angeles Angels $166,831,190 8) Texas Rangers $161,246,720 9) St. Louis Cardinals $149,186,000 10) Baltimore Orioles $147,943,713 11) Washington Nationals $146,686,385 12) Seattle Mariners $144,996,858 13) Toronto Blue Jays $140,582,027 14) Kansas City Royals $137,606,125 15) New York Mets $130,612,115 16) Chicago White Sox $115,998,667 17) Colorado Rockies $113,242,571 18) Minnesota Twins $104,591,200 19) Philadelphia Phillies $103,346,668 20) San Diego Padres $100,547,000 21) Pittsburgh Pirates $99,960,499 22) Arizona Diamondbacks $98,657,436 23) Cleveland Indians $98,006,899 24) Houston Astros $96,643,000 25) Cincinnati Reds $93,171,452 26) Oakland Athletics $85,823,390
From the above list it's clear that the Cubs spent wisely, and I hope the Astros can be smart with their money, no sense in spending it if you aren't going to be in the race. Although the Astros were in the wildcard race most of the month of Sept.

Publicly thanking Sid (late) for his gracious note. Have really been busy at work and home the last couple of days. Sid pasted the same note into an email and sent it to me personally. Everybody left it all out on the field...both teams. I think the Indians decimated pitching staff finally ran out of gas. Couldn't pull that one last rabbit.
Cub fans will never be the same. I remember the years of the early Mets. They were lovable losers. We went to games and win or lose we had a good time enjoying baseball. Year after year they were the worst team in baseball. Then came the Miracle Mets of 1969 and everything changed. Losing wasn't a minor inconvenience it was annoying. Missing the playoffs was unacceptable. And so it will be in Chicago. Fans expectations have changed and blaming some curse won't work anymore. Cub fans will no longer be any different from those in St. Louis, LA oar NY. Win it all or else....
