I'm sure BDR will not miss Candlestick, it had become a dump. But I wonder how moving to Santa Clara will affect his travel plans. Candlestick was out by the airport, he'll probably still have to fly to SF and then drive to Santa Clara. I also saw where the Oakland Athletics are moving to Freemont and going to build a 36K stadium. It certainly seems to me that baseball is steadily shrinking the size of the stadiums. I think the old Cleveland Indians park held around 80K, the Astrodome held close to 60. Now 40K is about the standard size. Terry
I heard or read that this past season the A's covered the entire upper deck of their stadium with a green tarp. Sounds like 36,000 is about right, maybe still too big.
Actually, I like the 'Stick. Travel won't change. We fly from Burbank to Oakland because Southwest doesn't fly into SFO from the LA area. Kim's parents live on the peninsula in San Mateo, so they're fairly close to Santa Clara. What I am concerned about, however, is the possibility that the Niners will ask for a personal seat license in the new stadium. As bad as they were last year, our tickets were still raised from $64 to $84 this season.
8) Both the 49ers and Giants should move to the middle of Frisco Bay. I hear Alcatraz is available...
