Well here we are Middle of October. We have 1 team in the top 25 who has never been there before in W. Mich, we have 2 team including one in the top 10 who have "Interim" coaches...That would be Baylor and LSU.

    Top 10 has 4 B1G schools, 2 ACC Schools, 2 SEC schools, 1 Pac12 and 1 Big12.

So where are the big games this week?

#1 big game is #1 Alabama at #11 Tenn. I guess we all know that Tenn will start slow and finish fast. If they don't turn the ball over 7 times they have a punchers chance at Alabama. The Hogs put up 30 points on them, and I think the Vols have a better offense. Game of the Week

#2 Ole Miss at Arkansas .. Chad Kelly fresh off a high school football brawl back home in Buffalo, he said he shouldn't have left the sidelines, you think? He was the only one not wearing a helmet and pads...yup stay on the sidelines. Both squads need this game badly, both already have 2 losses and don't really want the 3rd loss. Still no word on Leonard Fournette, and LSU still starting an ex-Purdue QB. But they did have the week off to prepare!

#3 Ohio State at Wisconsin This game is huge in the B1G, this will be the best defense that Ohio State has faced this year and going to Madison is always a tough trip even for a team as talented as the Buckeyes. Badgers though don't really have a great offense. If the defense can handle the Buckeyes like the handled the Wolverines, they might have a chance but I doubt if they can beat OSU.

That's all the games involving 2 ranked teams. But there are as usual a number of games that are important.

Stanford at Notre Dame. Both the Irish and the Cardinal are reeling from recent events. ND coach Brian Kelly is being roundly roasted not just by the fans but by the media as well. The Cardinal and Coach Shaw while being disappointed in the recent losses aren't being castigated by anybody, Shaw still considered a great coach. He just lacks a QB, fortunately he's playing ND who doesn't have a DB and a doesn't have a pass rush. Irish will have to outscore them.

UCAL at Wash State...neither team can afford a loss, both teams seem to be back on track with their pre-season expectations. Washington State receivers no longer lead the nation in running out of bounds! The spotlight is off of UCLA QB Josh Rosen, so maybe he can focus on just being a QB. I'm thinking this will be a track meet.

Iowa State at Texas ...whoa boy, Iowa State seems to be a little better than your average 1-5 team. They have been in most of their game and both Baylor and TCU just nipped them at the wire. I can't imagine the atmosphere around the Longhorn program with another loss to Iowa State, they beat us 24-0 last year. We'll score but can we stop them?

NCState at Clemson I don't know how good NCState is, they are 4-1 now. But I don't really think they have much of a chance vs Clemson.

WVU at Texas Tech WVU is unbeaten, beat Kan State in a close one last weekend. Could this be the year they break through and win the B12? It's a long trip for the Mountaineers, and Tech QB Mahomes is really good.

UNC at Miami UNC is one of those super uptempo teams so the Hurricanes better be ready. Before they lost to FSU I would have figured the Hurricanes to win this one going away, but I'm not so sure right now.

Neb at IU Huskers are in the top 10 for the first time in awhile, IU seems to be a better team than the usual IU squad. Bet there might be as many Huskers fans in the stadium as IU fans.

Mich will not score 80 points this weekend, take that to the bank.

Aggies have the week off to prepare for the trip to Alabama. They need it, Myles Garret needs to be 100% for the A&M defense to have a shot at helping the Aggies beat 'Bama.

    Bama at Tenn
This is definitely not a sure thing for Bama. It's really too bad Tenn has so many people beat up because I think they would really give good accounting of themselves. Tenn definitely has the talent, they just need to play more than 30 minutes per game.

    Ole Miss at Ark
Arkansas should manhandle Ole Miss. I'm not buying into them being the best two-loss team in the country.

    OSU at Wisc
Wisc has a pretty fine defense, but reminscent of UF's offense troubles last year, it's important to be able to score SOME points, and I don't think they'll do enough of that.

    Stan at ND
It really feels like a bad spot for ND to be in right here. Fortunately for the domers Stan has tried to force their offense through McCaff 80% of the time, and the rest of their big boys haven't been up to the task like last year. But, going against ND, I don't see this one being close.

    UCLA at Wazzu
This is a North vs. South matchup and the P12N is 4-3 against P12S so far this year.

UCLA has a 1-2 conference record, with one divisional loss
Wazzu has a 2-0 conference record, both divisional wins

At this early juncture, Wazzu controls its own destiny. That is true even if they lose to UCLA.

Rosen was beat up pretty bad against ASU last weekend and had to spend some recovery time on the sidelines twice, which directly lead to their loss to ASU. If he does make the start, I fear for his health with Hercules Mata'afa chasing him down and their OL having not been able to protect him lately. The Cougars defensive front plays fast and hard and seem to have turned the corner. I'm yet again a tentative believer in this team, but I'll be flinching at every possible Coug-it moment.

    ISU at texas
gees, ISU has to come out of these with a W at some point, right? There's no reason the cyclones should have a chance, tho.

    NCSU at Clem
    Gees, name your score?

    WV at TT
No defense in this one, but WV is not the better team.

    UNC at Miami
Miami should be able to relieve some frustration.

    NU at IU
Come on NU, I want to see you guys are as good as the hype.

Still no resolution on the LSU/UF game. LSU AD say's it's not an option for LSU to give up a Home game to go to UF and play. Not an option, not negotiable.

So what's the options. UF/UGA game moved up to Oct 22 and then UF/LSU play on Oct 29th? Can't move the SECCG game back a week and have them play the game Dec 3rd can you?

Bet there will be more, but you won't be able to tell because both teams' fans wear red.

Is no one listening? There are no sure things in the SEC. Tennessee is a very good team. Alabama is a very good team. It should be a good game

    #1 Alabama at #11 Tenn.
As kp likes to say... you never know. I feel for Tom and Cindy. They have been hit hard by the injury bug. It happens.
They still have a ton of offense, and I'm not sure Kamara isn't better than Hurd. Tough to beat that Bama defense tho...

    #2 Ole Miss at Arkansas
Kesley thinks Miss is overvalued... He may be right, but I think they have too much offense for the hogs. I predict a track meet, with the Rebs prevailing.

    #3 Ohio State at Wisconsin
Wiscy was undervalued to start, then way overvalued. Ohio St will win this comfortably, and it won't be in doubt for long.

    Stanford at Notre Dame.
This one is tough for me to call, as I've only seen a very small bit of ND.
You should be able to pass on Stanford... you just need a few stops to win by 3. I really have no feel, but the Irish are at home and will be feeling some need for redemption. I say Irish by 7.

    UCLC at Wash State...
I'd like UCLA to win a lot of games to give the Aggies a quality win, but not this one. With out Rosen, they are dead. The Cougs are coming together right now on both sides of the ball. Might be better for Rosen if he sits for this one... the Cougs will hit your QB, and they can be quite rude about it.
    Cougs win easily.

    Iowa State at Texas
Did Terry actually type that? Really???
If the Horns lose this... Charlie will walk out of the stadium with his severance check in hand.

    NCState at Clemson
Wolf Pack gets eaten by funny colored Tigers.

    WVU at Texas Tech
I wish I could drum up some interest in my old conference... but I can't.
    Yawn...

    UNC at Miami
I groaned with all the UM fans when that kick went south. I like Richt, and I despise Jimbo, so that sucked.
I think they'll get back on track with a win over a very tough UNC team.

    Neb at IU
Track meet!!! AJ's team will cause him to break out the good stuff and swear a bit, but I think in the end he'll get the win.

Nebraska is ranked to high...we're not a top 10 team....Indiana can win this Saturday, and we will lose in Madison and Columbus.

No. Mid life crisis as I have figured it out is:

    (1) Why my 7 iron goes farther than the 6.

    (2) Why do I get subscribed cholesteral medicine in lieu of Viagra (WTF, I still have to work harder?)

    (3) When didn't anybody believe me when I said we'd miss Dr. Tom? (CIRCA 1997)

JB Browning...there was a good guy! Even if he was a Husker fan! :)

Rusty the Rooster found us here on the Skybox and then tried to take over the board. I think he might have even talked to Ray about buying us out he liked us so much...except we didn't really like him all that much.

I think Tenn has an excellent chance against Alabama.

That team is as explosive as any team I have seen in a long time. Any team that can have 7 turnovers against Texas A & M and take the game to OT has something going for them.

Nebraska? Glad to see them so high.

Sheet, Foley blaming LSU now is a bit rich. That's like burning down someone's house and then fussing when they aren't going to get a hose after the fact.

This situation was created by Foley. He had solutions in front of him and he refused to play that weekend under any circumstances. LSU isn't going to be too happy about this as I believe they either play Bama the next week, or had to get rid of a noncon opponent to make it happen (thus losing a home game).

Foley held all the cards and he played it all the way down the river. Turns out, he didn't even have a pair.

    Have to disagree Corey.
I live in Florida and I know how dire the warnings were and how much I worried about friends and family on the Friday before the scheduled game when the bastard came up the coast. Totally disruptive To just about any normal schedule and proved deadly as the deaths in NC and elsewhere have proved out. My Dad lives in Jax Beach 5 miles from the ocean and that's what concerned me on Fri.... Certainly not LSU vs Fla
I think I read that over 50 UF players are from the east coast of Florida. You just have to grasp the level of concern a storm like this causes.
No Foley conspiracy here and now even if Bama beats Tenn the Vols chances of winning the SEC East just skyrocketed.
    Who gets screwed here?
