Well... Big game this week. I was VERY surprised when the line opened at A&M -6.5. I figured it would be 3 or less. Of course that is only an attempt to balance the books, but it does say a lot of folks think the Ags are going to win. If we are at full strength, I'd say we have a great chance. We have the pass rush and the run stopping front to frustrate the Vol offense. And we have the speed and power to score on anyone. But we also have a mercurial QB who will look like a genius on one series, and the class dunce on the next. It's all about Trevor not making stupid mistakes. He was very good against Arkansas, and less than average against SCAR. No surprise that one ended a blow out, the other a close win. Can't play like that this week. I make no predictions other than I'll be there to see it in person. 8)
The Aggies can win provided they can build... say a 31 point lead by mid-3rd quarter. Otherwise they are toast! Lol
You definitely need the good Trevor to show up this weekend. Are they expecting a record sellout crowd?
I will be listening on XM from Sealy Texas at Moparfest. I predict a Tennessee victory in the last second by one point! 8) The Dobb-nail boot visits College Station!!!
Thx Tom, it was quite a game. When Traveon went 71 and then the ball went out the back of the endzone even I started to believe the Vols had the unstoppable mojo...
Big win for the Aggies. Tennessee has an unbelievable ability to come back. It doesn't seem to matter how far they are behind they have the ability to come back.
Scott and Bill, the optimist in me likes to think this loss was good for Tennessee. They have now seen that they can come back from almost any deficit but not seal the deal. This should make their resolve stronger to not fall behind in the future. The pessimist in me know that we have lost way too many of the star players to compete with Alabama. I am not looking forward to next week.
Lou Holtz said today that the stars are aligned for Tenn to pull the big upset over Alabama at Neyland.
This is in no way a sure Alabama win. Like I said elsewhere, we live and die by the performance of our defensive line. Tennessee has shown their tenacity. No one can survive the number of turnovers they had this past weekend. Just another October in the SEC.
Tom... we have a bunch of guys on the training tables now as well. That was a hard-hitting game, and no punches were pulled by either side. From all I've heard, everyone enjoyed the visiting Vol fans. Sure wish our return trip to Knoxville was sooner... I really want to take that one.
Not certain what the injured list looked like for aTm BEFORE the game but Tennessee had three leading defensive players out for this game... two for the entire season. We had our best running back out, lost in the Georgia game. We have now doubled that defensive number and lost two offensive linemen as well. Alabama should have an easy win next week. We will be dressing out third trombone to play middle linebacker.
