McCaffrey held to 50 yards, although he had a great night returning kicks. I only saw part of the game but the Washington defense looked pretty damned good and Browning had a good night. Very few turnovers and not many penalties. Great win for Washington.

    It's kinda odd.

For a good chunk of my life, Washington was a power that won or competed for National titles. In that same span, LSU was a pretty good, but not great Southern team.

Then Don James retired and the BCS era happened. LSU rose to a national power and Washington fell to obscurity. However, the BCS era kept screwing over teams like Boise, which eventually forced the hand of a great coach like Chris Peterson to go to Washington. (It's been my contention for years that it was Peterson that was the engine on the staff that kept Boise going).

If Peterson can put together a machine at Washington the way he did at Boise, but with Washington's recruiting ability, no one is going to be laughing. Remember, when Miami ruled college football and they had that incredible home winning streak, it was book ended (and ended) by 2 losses to Washington.

The Huskies are a sleeping giant (sorry Kes)

And LSU has just dumped 1 half of it's 'glory years' tradition and are in search of a coach who will take them over the top of Alabama...despite history not being on their side.

Elvis Grbac and Gary Moeller probably still have PTSD nightmares about Steve Entman being a one man wrecking crew in the Rose Bowl.

Prior to that game, most Michigan fans, including me, had no clue about just how great that Huskie team was.

Ohio State shuts out Rutgers 58-0. Not much of a contest so I am not too excited.

slow starts by Tenn and A&M...tight contest in Ann Arbor. Neb struggling with Illionois.

Texas embarassed at Stillwater...fans calling for Charlie Strongs head.

Baylor another slow start but fast finish.

Best yet to come with Louisville/Clemson

What happened in the UF/Vandy game?

3 missed field goals. We are giving Wisky every opportunity to steal one in Ann Arbor. Both defenses have been playing lights out.

A couple of shockers in the making if they hold....

UGA over Tenn into the 4th qtr
UNC over FSU into the 4th qtr.

    Illinois still leading Neb.

    Whew,

Great defensive battle in Ann Arbor. Looking forward to the OSU-Buckeyes matchup in Madison.

Well Tenn just like to keep things exciting...a Hail Mary to win.

Ag's get the win as well...pretty much as Scott predicted.

Mich gets the hard fought win as well.

Just double-checked, no "D" in texas, baylor, Texas Christians university, Oklahoma, Oklahoma state, Iowa state, or kansas.

Not in ksu, wv, or tt either, but they didn't give up huge scores.

And if you notice, there's only one "W" in Washington state University.

High energy game between Louisville and Clemson. As always in these big games its the turnovers that make the difference
