Moving tribute in Lincoln. Classy response by Frenso to decline the delay of game penalty.

With one more big game remaining, Notre Dame Texas, the first weekend of football has been very enjoyable. Alabama appears to have found their QB, Houston obliterates the Sooners, Wisconsin smacks LSU. Michigan and Ohio State win big for the Big Ten and the SEC does not look as strong as some thought.

Juco should be happy that A&M beat UCLA. Scott had the fortitude to lay 21 confidence points on his Aggies. Miami looks to be a strong contender.

Congratulations to all the Skybox members, whose teams won in the opening salvo of the 2016 football season!

Definitely a number of shocking upsets. This was thought by some to be the best OU team in years, a legitimate playoff contender. Now it looks like they could easily start 1-2 and be out of it before Oct 1.

LSU looks like they have the same problem they had last year, no QB who can pass the ball to make defenses back off of stacking the box. Doesn't bode well for them going forward. They certainly have no chance against 'Bama if they can't make them respect the pass.

Stanford looked good, McCaffrey was bottle up quite a bit but still got 200+yds of total offense and a great PR that was called back. Their QB looked good at times but faded some in the 2nd half but it was his first start.

Wash State losing to E.Washington was a shocker to me, but they seem to be one of those programs that some how pulls the upset on a Pac12 team.

    Vols barely escape the upset

Irish have become the trendy upset pick. Texas gets it's revenge and the true freshman QB is the real deal ..so they say.

I know the media and most Aggie fans gave Rosen a hard time, as they should for being a big mouthed sophomore, and hats off to Texas A&M for winning the ball game. However, from the Bruin perspective this can be summed up in 4 words:

    Catch the f***ing ball.

A&M didn't show me anything that I didn't know they had. UCLA showed me less than they had and despite all of that, catch the damned ball solves a lot of those woes..

I think the Aggies should go bowling this year. That's a good team.

I was actually disappointed the first time the students broke out the 50k chant... it was waaaayyy too early.
He deserved it after that last INT tho, with his motioning to the crowd just prior.

Agreed Corey, we got some fortuitous drops from the Bruin receivers. We had a few ourselves.
And our Keystone Kops edition of a secondary on that long TD pass would make anyone else laugh... but it made me cry.

The one thing I really questioned was when we had the game in hand at 24-9, and had just pinned UCLA on their own 3 with a great punt... we decided to sub in our 2nd/3rd team defense.
That was the time to knock the Bruins out with a definitive defensive stop, but instead we let them drive the ball to midfield before putting the main D back in and at that point they were rolling.

BUT... it was a win, and we get to play again next week with a perfect record. I'm happy.

    :D

:D Well I could say there is only one team worth remembering in Florida but they have been pretty easy to forget the past couple of seasons... :p

On another note I will throw my opinion on how awful preseason rankings are for another season and why even have them before mid October. The amount of upsets occurring on the field was unbelievable and outside of maybe Ohio St, Alabama and one or two others it seems that parity is in full force...

The kid just came alive right before halftime when he threw a TD pass and got just leveled. After that he was on target and ran the ball very well. It's just one game but he looked good.
