Don this could possibly be a historically great class, somebody mentioned on another board that the Buckeyes could end up with as many a 9 5 star players...even Saban hasn't done that.

But Gerry Faust had maybe the greatest, on paper, haul his first year. Back then it was mainly Parade AA that were the big deal and he got a ton of them just blew away the recruiting world. Unfortunately he didn't know what to do with them!

    Terry,

I remember when Notre Dame hired Faust from Cincinnati Moeller. He had such a great high school career and was an avid fan of the Irish. It was a sad ending all around for both sides. He was never equipped to handle coaching at the college level. Too bad as he was a terrific high school coach.

Don, I supported Faust as long as I could, but early in what turned out to be his last season, I no longer could deal with what I saw as a disaster on the sidelines and on the field. I still remember enough to provide examples, but I won't bore you. He was a heck of a good person, and I was sorry that he failed, but it was a misguided decision to begin with by our administration.

    Sid,

One of those situations that did not materialize, but would have been great press for Notre Dame if Faust could have pulled it off!

Well on a day that Ohio State picked up two highly recruited kids, Michigan had 2 highly recruited kids decommit reportedly due to some screwups by the staff.

One kid quit because he got a thank you card for attending a BBQ that he didn't attend and they spelled his name wrong. Now don't get me wrong as somebody who is less than a Mich fan I sort of smile at this, but really you wanted to go to Mich and now you don't because you got a wrong thank you? What the hell is wrong with these kids?

Part of the problem is all this information being passed back and forth on the Internet. You are dealing with 18 yr olds, who do not have a clue about the real world. God help us all!

A linebacker from our 97 NC team saved his recruiting letter from Wisky.

    That's pretty funny.

Other CFB news...Ole Miss is dropping Dixie from football games. It will no longer be played by the Ole Miss bands. So I guess Old time will be forgotten! :? :?

As if you need another reason to see why Alabama is #1 this year...look no further than the fact that they lead the country in draft prospects and 5 of their kids are rated #1 at their position for the 2017 NFL draft. Doesn't mean they will win all their games or even win the SEC. But you can see why everybody has them #1.

    Alabama's 2017 NFL Prospects
POS. PLAYER GRADE OVERALL RANK POS. RANK
    DE Jonathan Allen 94 2 1
    OLB Tim Williams 92 7 1
    ILB Reuben Foster 90 12 1
    OT Cam Robinson* 89 16 1
    TE O.J. Howard 87 27 1
    OLB Ryan Anderson 79 52 5
    S Eddie Jackson 75 61 5
    DT Da'Shawn Hand* 60 109 12
    DT Dalvin Tomlinson 55 121 13

Id bet a lot that no DE will be taken ahead of Myles Garrett in the 17 draft...

I think you'll be shocked when you see Alabama's pass rush this year.

Meyer and Ohio State will prosper as long as they stay together. He is an incredible coach.

I don't know how many of you are aware about how deep the drinking talents run at Wazzu, but I intend to share a couple examples that should help illustrate the fact.

In celebration of beer sales returning to Martin Stadium (except in the student section):
    check these stories out:

Here, a kid puts down an impressive pull of fireball on national TV while enjoying Cougar football:

A few years back, Wazzu played UNLV. Gee, think Vegas and Cougars go together like fish and water? My favorite: "Halfway to Vegas, over the PA, "thanks to WSU this flight is out of booze".Cheers and fight song ensue
    http://www.cougcenter.com/2012/9/14/3333232/wsu-vs-unlv-alcohol-flights

The night before the Auburn game a few years back, Wazzu had a strong showing at several local bars. For illustrative purposes, check out the Crown bags over ALL of the taphandles at Quixotes. Done.

I definitely did not uphold the family name that day, did I.

My wife and kid were awaiting my return to pick them up from the play zone, so letting my full Cougar out was definitely not an option that day.

I did get two BAPPs though!
