I don't know much about him but seems like a good choice. Heartland Gov, solid and steady. It seems like a big risk though for anybody to jump on the Trump bandwagon, with mainstream Republican leadership still doing either nothing or reacting negatively to everything Trump does.

Terry, it looks like Pence is the pick. He's the anti-Trump: a true lifelong conservative, a low-key, measured personality, always in control of his emotions, experience in Congress (H of R, friend of Paul Ryan) before coming back here to be Governor. He endorsed Cruz in the primary but spoke well of Trump. In sum, he complements Trump by providing everything politically that Trump lacks. Perhaps the biggest reason for his choice IMO is that he appeals strongly to the same conservative base as Cruz.

On the other side, many in Indiana are very happy he was chosen and will not be the governor for the next 4 years. Some (don't know how many) conservatives were very unhappy with him over the RFRA flap a year or so ago, when he signed the highly civil rights-restrictive bill then "caved" under the enormous negative fallout. He signed a revised bill which was much more palatable to the other side.

Pence looks good to me. It's too bad that he's not at the top of the ticket.........but then...he never would have picked Trump.
