I was wondering what you folks think of this version?

Being a kid who grew up on hard rock, I like the edge they've added to the original (which I also like)...

I like it! I wish I could recapture the anger I felt as a teenager. Songs like this one make me want to look for trouble...

I like it too, it's a nice update to the classic Simon and Garfunkle treatment. When I first hit play I was sort of expecting it to be some hard rock version, head banging and all that. But it was very nice, a little different take but not too far from the original.

I'm with Terry. The singer has a great voice which enables him to do justice to the tempo. In one segment he reminded me of Bruce Springsteen.

Old fashioned. Was prepared to not like it...but I liked it very much.

Thought that the musical quality of his voice suffered during the angry part near the end, but that's probably on purpose...but it just sounded like yelling to me.

Also the video was cool...very desolate and bleak...which matches the mood and even the point of the song but not necessarily the lyrics (inner city, neon lights, graffiti, street lamps, etc.)

Scott...I watched (on DVR) The Blacklist final fall episode from late November last night...they played this ("Sounds of Silence" version by Disturbed) at the end when Tom and Elizabeth were being rushed to the hospital. They played it all the way through.

I remembered you posting this a year and a half ago. I gotta get a life.
