Man they are in deep do doo up in Waco. Most of my Texas buddies think Art Briles is a complete Scum Bag and when the Texas job was open they never wanted him at Texas.

But the allegations and the appearance of coverups and just flat out shoving it under the rug on all these sexual assault issues could and should result in heads rolling in Waco. Art Briles, Ken Starr top the list.

Art Briles...Fired at Baylor. Good for them, he turned a blind eye to what was going on for the sake of wining football games. It's one thing to ignore that you have boosters paying players or their relatives or asst Coaches violating the rules of recruiting. But this was about players assaulting Baylor women students.

Ken Starr needs to be fired as well.

This will also taint his son who has been his OCoord and a rising star in the college football world.

It's rumored to have happened two days ago but has not been addressed by Baylor.

Briles is out too. As a father of 2 girls, I find it hard to stomach that someone would try to cover up and minimize this type of thing. I know the temptation must be there but maybe the win at any cost attitude just takes over. :x

If I was demoted for cause, I think I would have to leave anyway. I just wouldn't feel right staying at a place that was embarrassed to have me there. 8)

The level of 'want to' when it comes to winning is really off the charts when it comes to some people. The sad thing is, they mistake it for commitment and think that it's part of the price to pay for greatness.

Quite a down fall for Starr and Briles.

I have no sympathy for either.

I know this doesn't rise to the level of the Penn State scandal, but it's still pretty bad.

I think the NCAA needs to step in and allow those kids to get out of their LOI if they want. Not force them to beg/battle/cajole/threaten Baylor to get their releases. Of course these kids then face the problem of finding a school that has room under the 85 man limit to take them in August. The soln is that these kids should not count against the 85 man roster for 1 year. That way they can enroll someplace and have the same opportunity as they would have had at Baylor, the good ones might play the rest might red shirt. But the school will have to count them against the 85 man limit for the 2017 year. That gives them a year to adjust their recruiting.

Jim Grobe to be the Interim coach at Baylor and the AD resigned. I wonder if these are the last shoes to drop. Was Art the sole mastermind of this scandal, were none of the staff complicit?

Where will Baylor go for a new coach. The guy at Tulsa is a Art Briles guy, but is his tree poisoned? What about Sonnie Cumbie the TCU OCoord?

Also I see that Hugh Freeze is willing to fall on his rubber sword, says he's responsible as the HC even though he had no part and no knowledge and that those who did just didn't know the rules. They weren't out to actually cheat. So the good intentions should mitigate the punishment.

They didn't know the rules? As I recall, when Corey was an assistant baseball coach at Minnesota-Duluth, he had to practically memorize all the recruiting regs just to keep his job. I've known other college coaches for both baseball and football and they ALL know the rules...

BTW- writers in our local newspapers are calling for the entire athletic program at Baylor to be dropped. In 2003, one Baylor basketball player murdered his teammate. This year, two of them had a fistfight during a TV time-out. As Vince Lombardi said, "What the hell's going on out here?"

Ole Miss AD on the Finebaum show about Hugh Freeze...

"I've never been around a man who runs his program with such high character and integrity. In terms of compliance and running a program the right way, we have the utmost faith in Coach Freeze and his staff."

Yeah Harbaugh once played the 'I didn't know the rules', as did Slick Rick. I'm not sure that is the trailer the Holy Man wants to be hitching to at this point. I think this is a strategic, 'it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission' type of situation.

Every recruiter has to be certified by the Conference each year and then, in turn, is certified by the NCAA. If a coach said he didn't know the rules, he's lying.

    As for this
I read that to say, 'we really regret firing the last guy who won 10 games here and aren't looking to go back to mediocrity again.'
