I can't believe that A&M, had the game won for all practical purposes...it was going to be 4th/10 ....except one of the A&M DL's roughs the Neb passer. It wasn't even close he was just standing there watching an incomplete pass when the A&M DL leveled him. Another 1 point loss. A&M is so close to being 10-1 that it really has to hurt. Terry
Not really... I would prefer to slug that fat, pie-eating bastard that is cashing $2million checks every year while finding ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... I gotta have a new coach POST HASTE! :x
Fran is telling Byrne that he's 3 plays from 11-0 and probably wants a raise or an extension to quell any negative recruiting that next year is win big or else.
I'm so fed up I kinda found myself sitting in my seat, wanting NU to make that final drive. Here's yet another occaision we have the ball inside the 5, and we DO NOT use the 275lb sledgehammer to knock it in. Instead we get cute-sy, and try to throw... FIELD GOAL... BTW, our passing "game" is the most rudimentary, archaic thing I've ever seen. I'd say the progressions are bad, but there AREN'T ANY. McGee often has ONE read, and then he's not allowed to throw if the guys isn't wide open. We continue to try 3 yard outs, and curls when we need 7. NEVER throw to the middle of the field, and... oh hell I'm tired. It was a long drive home from that debacle. BTW... Fran is now 0-11 against OU, Texas, and NU. He is a combined 1-14 if you add in Tech, and I expect this not to improve in Austin no matter who plays QB for the Horns. Yes Bill Byrne, we are DEFINITELY building champions! :x
No doubt he will be back for 07. In a way I'm glad. It wouldn't be fair for a new coach to face the sched we have in 2007. After our abysmal record next year, there will be no division in the Aggie nation, and Fat Fran will be shown the door...
Here's what I don't understand. Wasn't McGee a great passer in HS? Yesterday he was bouncing the ball in front of open recievers. Also in today's Chronicle there was a comment that the Ag's best QB thrower was on the bench in that big kid, they said he can throw the ball 80yds in the air. But if he's as big as they say 6'6" (I think) other than VY I can't remember any good option QB's who were that tall. So what's Fran going to do with him? Terry
Yeah, McGee wasn't sharp yesterday, but I think that's a symptom of how he's being coached: "DO NOT THROW THE BALL WHERE IT CAN BE INTERCEPTED!" You hear that enough, and you'll get very tenative. McGee was an incredible passer in high school, and he was promised by Fran that he would NOT be an option QB. It was a condition of his committment to A&M. Of course, Fran told us for $2mil/year we'd be a champ program. Fran says a lot of things, and it seems about 99% of them are bu11sh!t.
"Fran says a lot of things, and it seems about 99% of them are bu11sh!t." Now there's a real revelation!
It's eerie how similar the A&M situation is to the ND situation under Davie. Davie's 4th year was his best year, but that year was helped by the schedule being weaker than usual. There was already a big movement to get rid of him but the AD took the record as a sign of things to come. The next year the schedule was tougher and he had a losing season and the AD who probably would have liked to have kept him was forced to fire him. Terry
Scott, I really have tried to stay away from this subject. I haven't wanted to belabor the point, but every once in a while the temptation becomes too much and I can't resist.
