    on a goal line sneak. He came off the field holding his right arm and appears to be in a lot of pain on the sideline. This is terrible for Texas...and of course for Colt who's worked so hard to get where he is right now.

    KState just scored on a big pass play. 7-7 game. That KState Qb is a big kid 6'6" 238lbs of true freshman.

    Texas fighting for it's life. KState up 21-14 and they have been killing our defense and rattling Jevan Snead. Snead is showing how hard it is to get up to game speed when you haven't played much and you are a true freshman.

    Our defense is going to have to get it's back up in the 2nd half and take over this game or we are going to get beat.

    35-21 KState, Longhorns just fumbled back to back possessions. Not looking good, I don't think Jevan Snead can bring us back and the Wildcats are on fire.

    42-21 turn out the lights the party's over. They can just pin their ears back now and come after Snead and he won't be able to handle that. It could get even uglier. :( If McCoy isn't back for A&M, I don't think we can beat the Ag's.

    If you aren't watching this game you are missing something....it's wild and wooly. Maybe the Longhorns aren't done!!

    42-35 KState...but there is 13 minutes left to play.

    OK I'm confused
    Why is it that year after year we're told about all the great recruiting classes that Texas has had and yet, to start the year they have a freshman starting and after he's hurt, a freshmen replaces him. So in the last 3 GREAT recruiting classes they've had no QBs?

    Yes...you see what happened is that Mack had a QB pull a C.J. Leake on him, totally screwed up the recruiting of that position. BTW other than that Texas has in fact had tremendous recruiting classes based on recruit rankings. I guess those KState guys didn't read the Texas players clippings though...maybe they can't read.

    But this game was lost by two things that coming into the season were Texas strengths. First and foremost the defense played absolutely terrible tonight and has not played well all year, esp on pass defense. I know you might find this hard to believe but Gene Chiziks defense, and Chiziks is a guy most of the ND posters on other boards would have jones over if Minter had been fired, manned by all those highly ranked recruits is a worse pass defense than the Irish...check the rankings. The other thing that cost the Longhorns was the OL, maybe they get a little bit of a pass because if the QB holds the ball too long what can they do, but they were beaten a lot by the KState defense.

    But even though we lost, that was one hell of an exciting game. There was a little bit of everything. Incredible offensive and defensive plays, guys carried off the field, blocked kicks, trick plays, slobberknocker hits. I'd have to say that was the most riveting game I've seen all year.

    Not that it matters at this point. But late in the game on a 3rd down play the KSU QB threw and incomplete downfield and was hit late, he was hit later than the Aggie DL hit the Neb QB, and it was not called a late hit. I couldn't believe that the ref didn't throw the flag.

    At this point, I think that Vince Young should have won the Heisman. After all, he made Mack look like a good coach.

    How did Mack look like a bad coach tonight? He lost his Heisman candidate qB on the first series and came damn close to winning. How do you think Charlie would do if Evan Sharpley were to have had to play against UCLA or UNC or ......

    Terry,

    I do not see any specifics this morning on McCoy's injury. It appeared to me it might be his collarbone?

    A tough break to say the least for Texas.

    Charlie hasn't been recruiting for 4 yrs. You told me Mack got CJ Leaked. That tells me that he promised some QB that he wouldn't recruit any other QBs. Davey was stupid enough to do that and got burned. Mack did the same thing Davey did? I rest my case.

    No that year he recruited 2 QB's 1 super stud AA (Ryan Peraleaux)
    etc QB and Colt McCoy. The Super Stud AA QB stiffed him at the last moment and he was stuck with Colt McCoy.

    The year before he was unable to get a QB he wanted because of the presence of Vince Young as RS freshman. Vince unexpectedly developed into a #1 draft choice at QB, which nobody would have predicted. Many, you included i'll bet, would have never thought the NFL would even draft VY as a QB, much less a 1st rounder and that he would stay at Texas for the lenght of his eligiblity and then move to the NFL as a TE or WR. That is where he made his mistake not realizing that VY would leave 1 year early for the NFL as a #1 draft choice at QB.

    It'll be interesting to see the Irish depth Chart if Jimmy Clausen turns out to be as good as advertised. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Irish don't get a QB in the next class (2008) or certainly not a highly ranked one. It also wouldn't surprise if one of either Frazer or Jones transfers if they get beat out by Clausen on the depth chart. If Sharpley considers his future to be as a baseball player then he might stay to give Clausen backup depth. Point being that I could see us developing depth problems if Clausen is the real deal. Look no further than Fla where they have a Sr and a true freshman...nada in between and they have been a passing school since Spurrier returned.

    I rest my case.

    Hey....

    <t>Texas is done in the title chase and K-State gets the kudos from me. How bad do you think Nebraska feels today after watching Freeman the star of the game at QB when he pulled his commit from them to play for the new coach Prince? OUCH !!<br/>
    <br/>
    Give Weis 4-5 years to load the wagons in SB and I'll take my chances with him running the show anyday.<br/>
    <br/>
    On another note how would you like to be a season ticket hoder for U of Washington this morning after Stanford nearly pitched a shutout at Ty in Seattle? Thank you they are cutting him checks now and not ND.</t>

    re: Ty

    How come the talking heads have stopped making their weekly Ty vs. Charlie comparison? Remember those? "After 8 games, their records are identical!" "Race was a factor in the coaching change." "Blah...blah...blah..."

    I was thinking the same thing about Ty. Amazing isn't it? You know they don't want to bring the subject up anymore because it would eluminate the 4-6 season he is having. Of course anyone who is critical of him is branded a racist...right. Washington will never contend for a NC as long as he is their coach. Wonder what the sports media will say next year after UW fires him? ND sure took the long way around to finding the right coach but we got a good one now and for that I am a thankful man and fan. I've said it before but just so no one is confused...I think Ty is a good person...problem is he is a bad coach/recruiter. Go CW! <E>:D</E></r>

    Back to back 9 win seasons for the first time in 13 yrs. We should give Charlie an extension. No wait, we did. Wasn't that last year's criticism? Back to back BSC games are a possibility. That would mean he's already returned a large part if not all of his extension.
    We read of those "In Ty's first year...." articles. OK Charlie is 22 games in. How come the comparisons stopped? Ty wasn't 18-4 that's why. And the Ty boosters who were so gleeful after Wash won a few games to start the season are silent now that the Huskies are snowballing downhill.
    Let's win a bowl game against a ranked opponent and shove it down their throats or better yet up....
