Twitter apparently has cost A&M a WR recruit. After Tate Martell the #1 dual threat QB decommitted from A&M via twitter, A&M asst went on Twitter and made a tweet clearly aimed at him, it didn't go over so well with other recruits and a WR decommitted saying he didn't want to play for that guy and other recruits jumped in saying they were crossing A&M off their list.

I know kids love Twitter and Snapchat and stuff like that, it gives them the opportunity to be important and tell everybody "look at me". I'm sure somewhere somebody is telling them how great it is as it helps build their brand...ugh.

But to me it seems like for most celebs and athletes Twitter ends up biting them in the ass and they have to apologize for things they said. Sometimes they think if they delete it then it's gone and oK, but once on the internet it's never gone.

What is so odd, is that it wasn't that long ago that Martell was trying to graduate early so he could enroll at A&M and be eligible to play this fall. Now he's not interested.

Alabama lost a top ranked dual threat QB to Georgia recently, but then they picked up another highly ranked dual threat QB from that Alabama hot bed of recruiting...Hawaii!! :)

He was at Ohio State recently, are you guys still in the market for a 2017 QB commit?

    Terry,

Strange things happen Day before yesterday we had three solid QBs. Yesterday our third string QB, Collier had surgery for an ACL injury on his knee that apparently occurred in the Spring Game.

Martell has visited us once and is interested in coming back for another look, if the rumors are correct.

Meyer is always interested in good QBs!

I just read this information after posting above in an article from the OZone:

COLUMBUS — When it comes to a position that is dependent upon the ability to throw the ball, you would think how that player actually throws the ball would be of the utmost importance for Urban Meyer when he is looking for quarterbacks.

Does that mean the bigger the arm, the better the quarterback?

Not necessarily. In fact, arm strength isn't all that high up on the list of priorities for Meyer.

"I will tell you what we look for," Meyer said recently. "Every great quarterback — and we’ve had some great ones — the number one characteristic is a competitive spirit. Number two is toughness. Number three is how they lead. Number four is intelligence. Then, number five is the ability to extend the play."

I understand this line of thinking because it's usually true. There are some, like Carson, who mostly lurk on Twitter and rarely say anything.

Still, I think it should be noted that it was the coach who was on Twitter and the coach who acted like a passive, aggressive ass.

You do make a good point though about the 'look at me' attitude. That always bites people in the butt,

    Corey,

I agree about the assistant coach, certainly not very professional and he sounded more like an 18-year-old himself.

Twitter didn't cost us the player but it certainly gave a coach a chance to look stupid.
The kid was already looking around, Moorehead just gave him a megaphone to announce his departure.
I despise social media... It truly is the scourge of the universe
