One of the best weeks in golf. Some great players are seemingly poised to have a great tournament. Spieth finished well at Houston as did Stenson, Dustin Johnson, Phil, Ricky Fowler. All had good tournaments. Adam Scott has been playing well this year. Jason Day has been playing well. Bubba Watson has been playing well. You have to include Rory McIlroy in that group. Jason Day is the favorite going into the tournament. He's got the game to win it that's for sure.
Jason Day 7/1 Jordan Spieth 8/1 Rory McIlroy 8/1 Bubba Watson 12/1 Adam Scott 12/1 Rickie Fowler 15/1 Phil Mickelson 15/1 Dustin Johnson 20/1 Henrik Stenson 20/1

I've never been to the Masters, I know Stu has been. But I have played Tour 18 at Houston and the way it's designed is that each hole is a replica of some famous hole in Golf. They have replicated Amen Corner, 11-12-13 at Augusta of course but 5-6-7 at Tour 18 Houston. So I have played Amen Corner!!
SI doing a Story on Tiger Woods...naturally this week's edition. Pretty interesting read. http://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/what-happened-tiger-woods-it-remains-most-vexing-question-sports?simple=1 This is an excerpt
Oh just Amen Corner...probably 6 over for those 3 holes! Freddy!! Say it's not so!! It's not the Masters without Freddy!!
My favorite golf week of the year. When I lived in Michigan it was the true sign that spring had arrived. I've been to a few practice rounds at Augusta but never to the tournament itself. There's a "replica" course near The Villages called Golden Ocala. It has Augusta 12 and 13 as well as 16. That tee shot on 12 is intimidating. I've only been to Huston a couple of times. I played that Tour 18 once. Did I play with you Terry? It's funny how some golf games change year by year. Last year Spieth was just deadly with his putter. He's been pretty ordinary so far this year. Rory has probably physically recovered from his soccer injury but his game hasn't completely healed. I'm thinking that this year's winner is going to be an Aussie. They're both playing well.
I always look forward to the Masters as well. This is one of the few sporting events that my wife enjoys as well! The scenery is unbelievable.
Well, well, well....Stevie Williams is back at Augusta on the bag for Adam Scott. It appears to be a 1 time gig, as Scott has a regular caddie this year and Williams had retired. So I guess Scott thinks there is magic when Stevie is on the bag.
Jordan Spieth having a great round, if he par's 18 he'll be in the clubhouse at -5 2 shots clear of the field. But Jason Day is already -3 after 6 holes. Looks clear and sunny, but they say the wind is an issue making it tough.
Just watched the replay of Els 6 putt for a 10 on the 1st hole. Even I have never done that, and it was from about 3 feet.
Surprises the first day. 1. Rickey Fowler went absolutely brain dead on the back 9. Els was brain dead on the first green. Adam Scott couldn't get anything going. I was very impressed with Bryson DeChambeauwho shot even today. He has a very unusual swing and he plays the game at a good pace. He was paired with Speith so we may get to see some of his shots tomorrow. Jason Day looked like he'd be the leader after the first round when he turned in 5 under. 5 over on the back. Wonder which Day will show up tomorrow morning.
Els has slowed up golf rounds all over the world now because people will not easily concede those short putts on a busy weekened at the local links.'
