Started watching the 1st season of Fargo, streaming it from Amazon. I got hooked and ended up binge watching about half the season Sunday afternoon instead of the Golf. It's been great! you betcha.

I've been streaming more things these days from Netflix and Amazon.

I've watched the entire Breaking Bad series, a Neflix series called Bloodline, another Netflix series called Daredevil from the Marvel universe as well as another Marvel series called Jessica Jones.

I liked a series called Longmire, modern day western set in Montana about a crusty old sherrif, but it was not picked up by AMC or FX I forget, Netflix picked it up and I watched the 4th season.

It's easier than ever to stream these things to my new "Smart TV" and I'm doing it more.

Interesting you should mention streaming TV. Yesterday, our daughter visited and talked about she and her family enjoy streaming programs via the Amazon Fire "Stick". When she explained how easily it works, I became interested. I ordered it after she left. It was on sale for $34.99. I haven't decided yet to join Netflix, but that likely will happen next. :D

Yeah there are a lot of options out there now for streaming. All the new Smart TV's have built in apps for accessing Amazon, Netflix and Hulu plus some others that you'll probably never use.

Things like the Firestick and Googles Chromecast and some other similar devices all do pretty much the same thing, connect your TV to online streaming of TV/Movies/etc.

You do have to have an open HDMI port, which if you have an older set you might find that it only had 1 HDMI port and it's occupied by your cable box. My brother had that problem, but all the ones in the last 5 years or so have multiple HDMI ports.

Good point. I checked. I have an open port. I've been known to take the ready, fire, aim approch, wherein I find later that what I bought doesn't fit. I've learned through my mistakes to check before ordering.

I have Fire TV in anticipation of cutting the cable cord soon.
(I also have Prime so I get lots of "free" stuff from Amazon)
I plan to go with Sling TV since Kesley has had pretty good success with it.

This interest me but I have never researched enough to checkout the requirements. I'm not a big TV watcher anyways with the exception of college football and local news. Problem is I could never figure out how to continue the football access without cable...?

Ralph, one of the things about the Amazon Fire Stick that interests me is the ability to get games shown on ESPN3 on my TV. The whole thing is wifi-based, so whatever programs you can stream on your computer can be shown on your TV.

In Nov. and Dec. 2014 we had sold our home and were living in a rental property we owned and Mary worked out of. It didn't have cable but I had a sling box and hooked it up to my cable box in The Villages. I was able to use my phone to stream shows from my Fla. box and then using chromecast watch them on a smart TV we had.
