We just had a kid lose his offer to Louisville because he failed a drug test. I'm not sure if it was for weed, or PEDs, but he's crying now. He was also not at the banquet and was not named team captain, despite being the clear team leader among the seniors this season. I say among the seniors because some of the best players are actually Sophomores (Carson's class). The MLB Josh Marsh is already getting love letters from Florida State. He's a highly religious kid (he wants Carson to go on missionary trips with him to South Africa), as his father is the pastor of the ever growing local Epic Church. He's probably one of the 5 fastest kids in Alabama and I keep hoping to hear about an ND letter. I wanted to get he and Carson to attend the ND camp this summer, but Josh is going to Africa. Since I vetoed the Africa trip, Carson will most likely attend the Nike combine and at least 2 camps this summer.
I see that Alabama is having a big weekend and could add a bunch of 5* talent to their class if things go well for them. And just think Nick doesn't even have to do sleep overs or climb trees!!
I remember reading someplace where a lot of schools were rethinking their stance on weed. I think now it's the same as getting caught doing 'roids but without the body enhancement. I think as the whole weed thing changes nationally that we'll see a lot of changes to getting caught smoking it as an athlete at all levels.
Re: weed. I'm no doctor, but I believe it absolutely has to affect the brain in some way that is detrimental to mental acuity. I'm not surprised its impact on the athlete is being re-evaluated.
SEC Bagmen do exist!! Shaq says he recieved illegal benefits when he went to LSU. Shocking. I'm sure LSU really appreciates his honesty!
Well after a couple of weeks of bad pub for dumping already committed kids Harbaugh gets to be the wounded one this week...much to the joy of Texas fans who will likely be the beneficiaries of this flip flop... Texas fans are pretty sure he'll end up in Burnt Orange. Happy Days! I won't feel sorry though for Harbaugh he's going to have a great class, and he's managing things on the edge sort of like the SEC. Here's an article a little critical of this managing of the roster....which is completely legal. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/big-ten-recruiting-jim-harbaugh-michigan-wolverines-urban-meyer-ohio-state-buckeyes-012716
