I foresaw this type of reaction in the OSU Nike deal. It's a f'n game. Play it or quit.

Nor an education, apparently. And then, "Slavery"? SERIOUSLY? Why did you sign on the dotted line? Not even arguing if it is or IS NOT slavery, nobody FORCED him into indentured servitude.

Wasn't it Warren Sapp that claimed getting paid millions to play in the NFL was modern-day slavery as well? Somehow, I think all those North American slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries (and all the ones around the world before and after) MIGHT think the deal these guys have isn't so bad.

And yes, he recanted, but even starting down that road in the first place is ridiculous.

Agreed. Recanting. Apologizing. It's become white noise.

19 year olds say the darndest things..... 8)

Maybe when he is a little older he can use more aplomb and eloquence to state his point.

I have long felt these kids who bring so much money in to the system and dedicate their time and in some cases their physical well being to the operation should get at least a small stipend over and above the tuition money. Might settle some of these sentiments he voices.

LOL, all I can say is that even using the pre-paid college fund, which by the way is used up now, my wife and I have not saved a damn penny the past four years as our son attends college, lives in a shared apartment, eats food, drives a vehicle that needs insurance, fuel, tires etc....

There needs to be a little more respect given towards the very expensive gift of a free education and its associated cost that are part of a scholarship...

Isn't part of the ongoing National debate about student loans, amazing how this is conveniently ignored at times like this....

    Just my opinion...
