Thanks. Man what a damned game! Great to see Kenyan Drake and OJ Howard have such a great game. Whew! Roll Tide!
Congrats KP!! Incredible effort by both teams. Bama is Bama but Clemson proved tonight that they also are a top tier program.
I said it earlier, you don't go undefeated in the regular season unless you are a very good team. Clemson was number 1. Roll Tide!
Congratulations kp, I think Saban needs to retire and go out on top and give other schools a chance to win a championship every now and then...
I was really hoping we could contain the qb better. He is a better passer than I thought too. Our defense was not as effective as they usually are, but then again he was a Heisman finalist. Coker looked confused much of the night. Henry came through though and Howard (the TE) had a great game. Clemson played tougher than I expected but an ugly win in the National Championship game is a good thing. Roll Tide!
Coker may have been confused most of the night, but he put the long ball on target when it was available. Congrats bama, kp.
Very entertaining game. My feeling is that Clemson had a slightly better offense and defense but the Alabama special teams were brilliant last night. I don't remember ever seeing an onside kick caught that easily. The kicker couldn't have thrown it better than that. The kick return was the dagger in the heart for Clemson. Congrats to the Tide in a well played hard won game.
Congrats KP, Bryant and all the Tide fans out there. You've got a lot to be proud of, as that was one of the great title games in history. Clemson was no one pump chump and that showed. As to the question about how Alabama WRs get so wide open, the answer is that people need to recognize Kiffin is one hell of an offensive coach. He's kinda funny, he's a total asshole, but he coached circles around the venerable Matt Venables.
The thing about a Saban coached Bama team is that they seem to be able to play whatever kind of game they need to in order to beat you. They base their offensive game on power running and a QB to manage the game. If that doesn't work then they win with passing. Or a strong defense in a low scoring game. Then there's the onside kick. Pretty amazing. Looking back on this season though the one play that got them here was the impossible 4th and long for Arkansas against Ole Miss in OT. A wild lateral that allowed them to pull off an almost impossible first down then go for two to win. If Ole Miss had won that game they would have won the West and Bama would not have been in the Championship game. But they were and they are the best team in the country. Saban is a master at what he does and only the Bear has more National Championships with 6 to Saban's 5. I suspect Saban isn't done yet. Congratulations KP on a well earned Championship.
Congratulations to Alabama and it's fans..... great win! Bama's W finishes off a tremendous post season for the SEC.... except for no-show Florida. The conference went 9-2 in the postseason and that's a record that will be hard pressed to be equalled by any conference in the future... including by the SEC itself. On Kiffin and the WRs getting so open..... yeah.... that did happen.... but he called the same stuff vs. UF and the Wrs were well covered.... triple covered in one instance but the Wrs made stupendous plays. Give credit for Coker putting the ball on the money and the good hands and talent of the Bama wide receivers.
I wonder who will be the QB at Alabama next year, the last 2 guys have been good game managers who won't play in the NFL, but they were very good at playing the system Alabama wants to play. They have David Cornwall a highly rated QB out of Norman and Blake Barnett a highly rated QB from Calif (once a ND verbal). Then there is Cooper Bateman from Utah who actually was the backup but not nearly as highly rated at the other 2 guys. They have a local kid, Jalen Hurts from Channelview who is their 2016 QB and he's....gasp...a dual threat guy! Also right now Alabama, on the 247 composite rankings only has the #8 class but they also only have 17 guys and I figure they are going to add some more guys to that so I expect they will finish somewhere in the top 5 when it's all said and done. I don't remember who Saban's QB was when he won the NC at LSU, but he's not in the NFL and McCarron who has a solid role with the Bengals and now Coker. So he's done it with good college QB's who aren't coveted by the NFL. It's the process! Bear Bryant had a ton of great QB's including Namath and Stabler to just name a couple.
ESPN's Way too early rankings. 1. Clemson 2. Alabama 3. Baylor ...Scott will not like that. 4. Michigan....Harbaugh has them back in just 1 season. 5. OU 6. FSU 7. LSU 8. Stanford...a lot of people thought that once Harbaughs boys left the program it would go back to the norm...apparently not. Shaw is a great coach. 9. Notre Dame 10. Houston Cougars...Texas fans drool over what Herman will do for the Longhorns when he arrives in 2017. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14514317/clemson-tigers-alabama-crimson-tide-lead-2016-way-too-early-top-25
I hate to even start thinking about next year but we are losing a bunch of starters. A lot of experience returns on the defensive side, but they were not starters. Quarterback, running back and center positions have no experience returning at all. I think I'll just enjoy this one for a while. 8)
That's right KP.....you just go ahead and enjoy it for awhile......keep yer ears open though..... CONGRATS KP!!
