Well the lines are drawn. Wild Card round. Chiefs vs Texans Steelers vs Bengals Seahawks vs Vikings Packers vs Redskins. Bye Denver, NE, Arizona, Carolina Texans closed out the season with a literal mugging of the Jags Blake Bortels. 8 sacks. Chiefs beat us in the 1st game, lot has changed since then, and both teams finished hot, Texans 7-2 after 2-5 start and Chiefs 10-0 after a 1-5 start. I find it interesting that Alex Smith who was Urban's first big name at QB and who's college stats don't stand up to Tim Tebows, is still in the NFL and is a starter on a playoff team, while Tebow never made it and like Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart is a member of the media.
Look out NFL....Haslam aka Jimmy Truckstop....just hired the money ball guy! He and John Football should get along famously! http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2016/01/cleveland_browns_hire_analytic.html#incart_2box
Manziel is extremely hard to like. I read an article that said he was "finally" starting to get the NFL on the field and showed improvement. But who want's to take on the excess baggage that he brings. Maybe Jerry Jones? We need a QB in Houston, but I wouldn't want JFF. I'd rather go through what we went through at QB this year than have that bozo on the team.
Texans /Chiefs game was over in less than a minute. Hoyer was awful, Bill O'Brien earned the worst call of the decade with the JJ WATT wildcat along with Wilfork on the OL. Think KC defense knew exactly where they were going to go with that formation. Worst call by a Houston coach since Jerry Glanville and Stagger Lee.
So much for home field advantage. Some how I missed that Jordan Reed was a Gator. I guess in those days there was so much talent that he was over looked.
A lot is being made out of the the "he had to kick the laces". Now I know it's conventional wisdom that you want the laces away from you, but he made a longer FG earlier when he kicked the laces and I would think that, like a golfer practicing hitting out of divots, downhill lies, uphill lies, sidehill lies, deep lies in the rough, etc, that kickers would also practice kicking the laces enough so that while not ideal it's not something that should automatically kill them. BTW, why is kicking the laces harder than not?
From that range pros make 97%. Laces shouldn't be any factor that close. It would be like missing a 1 foot putt because there was some mud on the ball.
At the risk of beating a dead horse, I found this article humorous. How do the refs "forget" the unopened boxes of game balls and the gauges? http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/01/21/ne...efs-balls-air-gauges-police?xid=si_topstories
They just naturally assumed that Tom Brady and the Pats would have the balls all fixed and ready to go...no need for them to bring gauges and NFL approved footballs..it's the Pats..they handle that stuff!!
Great win for the Bronco's, really glad to see Peyton get back to the Super Bowl. I'm also really happy for Gary Kubiak he's a class guy and deserves this, his first trip to the Super Bowl as a HC. I hope he and Peyton and that defense bring home the Super Bowl 50 trophy. I hope Joel's ok, between the big snow and now watching Brady get beat up by the Bronco's defense it's been a tough weekend!!
Carson Palmer stinking up the joint, Panthers are rolling. Right now Carolina looks like the best team in the NFL. Good on both offense and defense.
