I was going to write something after Charles Woodson retired, that how ironic that he and Peyton Manning, the Heisman Finalsts from years ago retire the same year. Both having had great careers. I didn't favor Woodson winning the Heisman over Manning I thought Peyton deserved it, but I must admit that Woodson proved he was a great player and the award wasn't wasted on him. He and Manning were amongst the best ever at their positions.

But now this thing about HGH has surfaced, it does seem like a bit of shoddy reporting and it's hard to imagine Peyton doing anything not in the NFL rules. But then it's been brought up that the article claims that the HGH was sent to his wife, and Manning isn't denying that his wife was treated with HGH..which btw is 100% legal. Sid could go get some HGH, he just couldn't play in the NFL as it would violate his contract and the league rules.

This is starting to feel a bit like the Roger Clemens deal where drugs were reportedly administered to his wife, not to Roger. Nobody was ever able to prove it one way or the other but the stink of PED still hangs over Clemens and it's going to keep him out of the HOF. While is team mate Andy Petitte said, oops my bad, I'm sorry right away and doesn't have the stink and will probably be a HOF inductee in the near future.

I hope Peyton can discredit the whole story and regain his good name. I also hope he retires this year. He doesn't have it anymore, that much is clear.

And the departed ( from UF ) Will Grier used OTC performance enhancing drugs he claimed he didn't know were against NCAA rules.

Do I believe Will Grier? Not really.

Do I believe Peyton Manning? I would sure like to.

I can see how HGH would be of great benefit to a lineman or linebacker. OK maybe even to a RB and WR but just what does it really do for a QB? Does it make him more accurate? Does it help him read blitzes? Does it make his "Omaha" louder?
If this were broken by Yahoo Sports, SI, or ESPN I'd take it seriously but al Jezerra? Really?
Assuming that HGH was really sent to his wife, and I'm really finding that hard to believe, who was it that breached her physician-patient privilege? Someone could be in for some serious trouble. And if it turns out it never happened or that it was his wife not he that was using it, then someone is going to get hit with a nasty libel suit.

Manning is accused of doing the same thing that Andy Pettitte admitted to. Using HGH as a recovery tool in the rehab of an injury.

I am with Gipper. Al Jerzza?

When a reputable news source reports it I may listen but not to them.

I have great respect for Peyton Manning.

Well Peyton came off the bench and saved the Bronco's bacon today. He looked very good in doing it, he'll be the starter for the 1st playoff game. I'm getting some HGH, maybe it'll help my golf swing! :)

I would like to see him take the Bronco's to the Super Bowl and win, then retire.
