Bobda, I don't even know WHY B1G teams want to go to the Rose Bowl so badly. It's where good Midwestern teams go to die.

(Said a bit tongue in cheek....but still...)

Iowa finally on the board, 38-3. d

RE B10 and the Rose Bowl....not pretty. Michigan leads with 20 appearances and only 8 wins, Ohio State has 13 appearnces and 6 wins. Percentage wise the Illini and the Spartans are the best both winning 3 out of the 4 appearances. rest are pretty much .500

Well it kind of looks like Iowa is going to win the 2nd half...but not by enough.

If I am not mistaken, Wiscy has a pretty good Rose Bowl record. I laughed when the commentators said "Iowa is winning the 2nd half!" Then, next play, TD Stanford on a bomb because, well, they're Stanford and they just don't give a **** what you think. They do Stanford things. The band got pulled from live TV again. Someone made fun of Donald Trump in a sky message (don't think Stanford is not above that, as an institution, let alone the band..alumni, the whole pack of assholes.) I don't even like Trump one bit, but like most things Stanford, it was just unnecessary.

The dismantling of Sparty and Iowa was rather bothersome for me. I thought they both had more heart than that..

So far the SEC has looked to be it's old powerful self in the bowls.... with the one glaring exception of my Florida Gator's embarassing performance or lack thereof yesterday.

Corey, Bucky is 3-6 in the Rose Bowl. Alverez was 3-0 in the 80s and 90s which is why he he was elevated to deity status in Madison. Terry was kind enough to provide M's record but what is even more painful is that M was 4-0 in the Rose Bowl before 1970.

Judging from the shots from the blimp, it looked like most of the fans there yesterday were Iowa fans. It seems to be a Midwestern ritual for fanatic B10 fans to heat up their credit cards for the opportunity of making a New Year's Day pilgrimage to California to watch their beloved team get waxed by P10 bastards.

Read online that a guy in Alabama who is a big Rubio donor paid for the skywriting.

Tex A&M has some personnel issues going on and yet still showed up to play the game and only lost by 6.
Florida was an embarrassment to the rest of the SEC.
Not even Gator Bill can sugarcoat this one. Lol

Of course USC has an outstanding Rose Bowl record as one might guess. Of course for them it's almost a home game, while B10 teams have to travel from the cold midwest to sunny So.Cal. You might wonder what the records might be if the PacX teams traveled to the Snow Bowl in Chicago every Jan 1 for a big game with the Big10 teams?

But of course going to Sunny So.Cal is the whole point of the B10 wanting that game. Even with a loss it was a no doubt a welcome relief from the winter in the Midwest. Girls in shorts and bikini's...don't see that in Chicago! :)

The more other SEC teams dismantle their overmatched opponents the more disgusted Gator fans are going to get over yesterday's debacle. Georgia seems to be having no trouble with Penn State today.
I'm not certain UF would even stay up with the Nits!!

SEC now 8-2 in bowl play awaiting the king Alabama to finish it's coronation and take the conference record up to 9-2.

Some things never change...... :D

Hands down the Oregon/TCU game in the Alamo Bowl was the best game of the Bowl season. Greatest comeback ever in a bowl game by the Frogs, I wouldn't have given them a prayer after the Boykin fiasco. Yet fate was in their corner with Oregon losing their QB as well, him to legitimate injury. The TCU kid is a legend now.

    B12 ROCKS!! :)

Of more importance and impact, uo lost their center also. After that, every single snap was low, directly causing turnovers and lost downs. Sux to be a duck.

I am confident that game for Oregon fans was an unbelievable nightmare!

A lot of grit to the TCU backup QB. He played a great game in the second half.

The SEC really was so dominant not only in the number of wins in the bowls ( a record number) but in the number of decisive wins and winning margins.
All the more reason for Gator fans to spew some well deserved venom at the players and the coaches combined for such a putrid outing vs Michigan.
As Chris Collinsworth tweeted.."what a waste of time"[/list]

Is this the top inspire your team mates pre-game speech you've ever seen? It of course didn't work...but still can't fault the guy for lack of effort!:)

Well for the 2nd year in a row the two teams in the final will not have the same amount of practice time available. Because Alabama's semester starts after the game they get unlimited practices, but Clemson's semester starts Wed so they are limited to 4 hrs a day.

Last year it was the Buckeyes who had the edge in practice time over Oregon.

NCAA needs to figure this out and if nothing else have a special rule for this particular game, that says essentially that both teams must have the same amount of practice time. If that means that Alabama has to adhere to a stricter schedule then that's what they need to do.
