Alabama matched up well to MSU's style of offense, so I thought we would win if we didn't turn the ball over (and we didn't) but I didn't expect to go away from the run like we did. Thankfully, Coker was up to the task. I figured that MSU would not be able to run the ball but then Cook and his receivers did not have a good night either.
Congrats KP....very impressive. Sparty was no match....offensively, Bama took what Sparty gave them and never gave Sparty any room to breathe on offense by such a dominant performance upfront. The game was over when Cook threw the pick at the end of the half and first possession of the second half, Sparty kept the drive alive for the Tide with multiple penalties.....Sparty's spirit was crushed as Bama's defense was never going to let Sparty overcome a 17 point deficit and they knew it.....it quickly spiraled out of control from there. I just don't see Clemson being physical enough to hang for 4 quarters, tho they do have more weapons with which to threaten on offense....I think Tide rolls
A lot like last year really. Oregon with it's flashy QB centric high speed offense took FSU to the cleaners while Ohio State with it's running game and defense bludgeoned Alabama. So last year is was flash/dash Oregon vs powerhouse Ohio State. This year it's flash/dash Clemson vs powerhouse Alabama.
Terry, I think Clemson may have a better defense than Oregon had last year but their offense may not be quite as explosive. I also think Alabama's defense may be better than Ohio State's was. It's hard to compare but it should be interesting. 8)
Clemson has better cover DBs than MSU had. They'll have to single cover like MSU did and stop Henry. Sounds a lot simpler than it is.
Looking forward to Fiesta Bowl game this afternoon. Both programs have enjoyed a good season. Bragging rights is all that's left!
Eric Berry's little brother intercepted a pass at our 1 yard line and took it back 99 yards to score with 9 seconds left in the game.
pick 6 by the Tree's...21-0. Stanford looking really good.s It could really get away from Iowa if they don't do something soon, Don.
Iowa has played on three Rose Bowls since 1982. They were blown out each time. Looks like another bleak New Year's trip to Pasadena for Hawkeye fans.
