Some of you have already seen this on Facebook... With the Shelby going away, The SRT Challenger is again my chosen ride. I purchased a 2015 Red Tri-coat SRT Challenger... not a Hellcat. I want this for more of a show, than go but will be adding Nitros for a little added punch. Some of you will remember that I posted pictures of Cindy's Hellcat with the wild graphics installed. That has made her car best in show at several car chows. We are in the process of getting a clear bra installed on 4-Jan, then it coes to a show named Wrap Dynamics to have my brain child graphics installed. I started a name that car topic on my Facebook page since the name goes along with the chosen graphics: Rojo is the temporary name I gave my car for obvious reasons. Tonight, its true name became evident. It finally clicked in my mind and grew at the dinner table in a collaborative effort. That name is not going to be released to the general public until Wrap Dynamics works their magic installing the the product of the creative genius of Dennis Scales. This name was inspired by my renewed hatred for anything related to Ford. The only hints have been: 1) This name has been used before by another Tom that I grew up admiring. I am now excited about the graphics going on my car. 2) The "Tom" in question worked for Douglas Aircraft before starting his 45 year career that led me to know and admire him. 3) Even after it is released, only true car guys will know the meaning and the reference back to the Tom mentioned above. 4) The Tom to whom I refer is not a fictional character. He named a car the same name I am naming mine and for the exact same reason. 5) People that know me know where my interests lie and what I was doing when Cindy and I met. That was the time that this other Tom influenced me in the naming of my car. 6) This "Tom" had a love / hate relationship with a guy named Don in the 60's. 7) The original car would "test your sense of humor". ... That sure is a funny car... Two people have guessed the theme/name privately (at my request). Anyone have any idea???
No Clue. Although I do remember your story about getting shot at while driving on a Dirt Track and your love (not) for a certain NASCAR driver who was an Ahole at the track you worked at as a kid/young man. I can't actually remember who that NASCAR driver was but he had a lot of success if I remember correctly.
Scott has guessed correctly. ... And Terry, it was not dirt. It was Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. That was not my car. I was driving for a friend that broke his leg and could not drive for a while. His name was Terry as well, Terry Vickers. My love for racing was and still is Drag racing. The Tom I followed was a drag racer.
Terry, I honestly can't remember at this time. It was a pair of brothers and if one wasn't winning, he was helping the other win any way he could. They never made it into nationwide NASCAR. They were late model sportsman class (as it was called back then)
