I see that the Buckeyes lost Adophus Washington to suspension for the bowl game. I'm not sure how significant that is for them, I think he's a starter but what is their depth?
Terry, I believe he is fourth in number of tackles this season. Therefore, he will be missed. Dumb Ass thing for a senior to do. (Solicitation) Not a good way to end your collegiate career.
....and they spell team, "t-I-e-m". To them, there is an I in team. It has to make one wonder what kind of contribution they'll make unless they drastically change their attitudes. Talent and ego are a dangerous combination both for the individual and his team. Some kids never get the message. Let's hope this kid Hayes does.
Dumb Ass is right Don ! Far and away our best interior d-lineman in an area where we really have no quality depth. A crushing blow and one from which I'm uncertain we can truly recover.....I expect the Irish to be big favorites now and I have visions of them gashing us with impunity right over the undermanned and virtually vacated tackle spot..... dumb ass
Thanks, Lou Holtz - er - Terry. Good to hear from you. P.S. I (and probably other NDers) don't think the loss of one DL, no matter how good, will hurt the Buckeyes' chances. If ever there was a "next man up" coach, it's Meyer.
LOL...you know you have walkon's who can fill in there and be better than anything the poor ole Irish can put on the field!
In all seriousness. Washington is a big loss. 5 star recruit, Ohio high school player of the year....in basketball (at 300 lbs, no small feat), 3 year starter, 2nd team all-conference and one of the senior leaders on defense. He has been a rock in the middle for 3 years...... You're right Corey, Bosa will be a handful, but the job of blocking Bosa just got a helluva lot easier. We don't have a replacement for Washington....we just don't.
I think BT is right. The loss of Washington dooms the Buckeyes to a status of prohibitive underdog. The Irish will scrape what is left of them from the bottoms of the cleats as they chew the Buckeyes up like hamurger and crap them out like geese. Meyer will immediately have a haert attack and become a drooling vegetable of a man as the deepest of manic depressions buries him alive in a bottomless grave of despair. His family will be homeless as the angry Buckeye faithful burn the homestead to the ground and run them collectively out of town on a rail. I think that about covers it. No need for any more idle chit chat. 8)
Nice win in Ft Worth yesterday for the Irish women. Beat a good TCU team. Muffet certainly has challenges this year with the injury to Turner, who BTW is supposed to be back soon. Taya Reimer, from Sids neighborhood will not be in school next semester nobody seems to know, outside the team, what her situation is, injury for sure but lots of speculation on personal issues or just doesn't feel at home at ND. She will be missed we are not deep with big players. 4 guard offense probably how we'll play this year. Still should win a lot of games. Men play Loyola today.
Remember when Fla Sports writers kept saying that Urban wanted to coach at ND? http://www.bcsn.tv/news_article/show/588764
Re: Taya Reimer. I was caught by surprise while watching the ND-TCU game yesterday and hearing the announcer say she was no longer in the program. Even my son had not heard anything from his HSE (her HS) friends. I guess the reason(s) eventually will come out.
Tim already posted but just for the record. Devin Studstill from Palm Beach Gardens Fla committed to the Irish. He played with Tevon Coney. He will enroll in January. And I didn't think the Showtime deal would be a good thing....good thing Swarbrick never asks for my advice!
ND <t>I agree with you Terry in the Showtime series. It seems to be a a positive for ND in many ways and now with Studstill.</t>
Not so, Terry. The last time Jack and I were shooting the breeze, he asked about you and what you thought of the Showtime series. I told him you loved it and thought he made the right decision. He was very happy about that.
Sid I sort of believe you when you say you talk to Swarbrick, Brian as a monogram winner and also a very successful CPA/Lawyer in Indianapolis probably knows Jack from when Jack was in Indianapolis. So you've probably have had conversations with him!
No. Just yanking your chain. I've shaken his hand a few times at various events. He's very personable. I don't think Brian knows him, but I'm not sure. It wouldn't surprise me if he did.
