The injury list at UF is significantly larger than at any time this season especially on the lines both offensive and defensive. This just doesn't look promising heading into two very tough games to finish out the year. Honestly about the best thing I could see happening is a loss to FSU and then catching an Auburn induced break by playing Ole Miss instead of Bama for the SEC Championship. Otherwise two losses seem highly likely and a 10-3 regular season finish. Then it would be all about the Citrus Bowl and a chance to go out a winner with a healthier team and finish with 11 wins. I'll gladly take that kind of season but it is disappointing that the Gators came this far and now with the Grier suspension and the injuries don't really seem to have much of a chance in the next two games.
Yeah I can't see UF beating FSU unless an offense is found somewhere this week. But FSU is not exactly they juggernaut that they have been recently. Golson is on the bench and Sean McGuire doesn't strike fear into opposing defenses. But it's a rivalry game so it should be a good one.
I'm guess that before the season that UF fans would have taken 10-3, SEC East Championship and a Citrus Bowl berth in a heart beat. Great first season for your new coach.
Terry.... include in that a 27-3 beatdown of Georgia for the SEC East championship and hell yes.... I would have taken it. I just wish we had all of our parts right now and we are far from it. I think the bowl game will tell us much more about UF's season than the next two games will. I'm fully expecting losses vs. FSU and Bama but I do have hope we can at least make it entertaining for people to watch. I hate it when the SEC championship game is boring because one team is so overmatched vs. the other. Think South Carolina vs. Auburn when the Gamecocks seemed to never really have a chance and got trounced 56-17. Boring for everyone but Auburn fans.
Final score of 27-2 not indicative of how the defense played. They had it down to a 13-2 game that would have been 14-13 Fla if only UF had a FG kicker. Otherwise Treon Harris has regressed to the point that after this season he may never see another start. Oh well.... Bama 35 UF 7 and then on to the Citrus Bowl to play Michigan. A month to heal some offensive linemen should help and maybe McElwain can conjur up some offense.
