CFN weighs in on this matter http://cfn.scout.com/2/587655.html Louisville has the best offense in college football. Defensively they give up only 15.3 points a game. Texas 15.7 Florida 13 Louisville got a lot of criticism for giving up 34 points to the next best offense in college football. Texas gave up 31 to Texas Tech. Michigan gave up 26 to Ball St. No one complained about the lack of defense when Texas defeated USC 35-32 ?

Terry, I'm just having a little fun with this. If we had a playoff and no polls, you wouldn't see so much criticism of Louisville. The SEC is spear heading the attack and their propaganda machine is in full force. This is due primarily because they are in a position to possibly send a representative to the NC game and an undefeated Louisville stands in their way. As you may know I'm a Rutgers alumni, like you and Stu a fan of another team in addition to our alma maters, so I have a little more interest in this than I normally would.
I didn't know you were a RU alum. I thought you were of course a Penn State Alum. Do you live in Joisey or Pennsylvania? This may end up sort of like the FSU/Va.Tech Nat'l Championship game when Michael Vick was at Va.Tech. Nobody thought they belonged, but gave FSU a hell of a game. It'll be interesting if RU beats Louisville, no team who was ranked lower than 7th in the initial BCS poll (LSU in 2004) has ever made it to the NC game. RU is way way way below that, so what if they finish undefeated? That'd be a mess. Terry
For various reasons I have serious doubts that Florida will escape Tallahassee with a win that the Gators will probably deserve but not get. Therefore I can only hope that UF rebounds a week later and wins the SEC Championship and hopefully plays ND in the Sugar Bowl. This is the best case scenario I see for UF so....why not Louisville? It may be interesting.
Somebody posted this comment, supposedly from a Chicago Sun Times article, don't have a link. I'll be interested in Andy's comments.
Gotta like those Rutgers games. All that Scarlet and who doesn't get choked up when the band crosses the "T" ? So the Big East is #2 in Sagarin ratings. Who's #1 the Mountain West?
Everybody Sing: We're gona' get screwed... We're gona' get screwed... Oh how we're gona' get screwed.
Omigosh! If I had been drinking coffee when I read that, I would have spit it all over the keyboard and monitor. LOL!
BT and Tom, ACC refs doing the game for the first time since the debacle of 2003 at the Swamp. Bobby's under siege and these are just the clowns to help him out.
you should note <t>that of the ACC teams I felt were tough for your 'gauntlet' of SEC teams in another section, I did not list Florida State.<br/> <br/> That is because they are not good this year. Florida will win. That SEC hype machine can whip up alot of enthusiasm for a good many topics, but you can't make FSU any better than they are. Decent.</t>
MCG after seeing ACC reps in South Bend, I'm going to venture that FSU will be allowed to hold UF DE's pretty much on every play. Terry
Granted Corey that Half-Ass-U is no more than average to poor this year but as I have made my case so many times...a slanted...crooked ref crew can change a game. My feeling is that these ACC refs are chomping at the bit...not to prove how competent they are but to continue unabated the bias and dishonesty they exhibited in Gainesville in 2003. The problem is that the ACC office protected these scumbags instead of admonishing them and that tells me all I need to know about this year's sure to be spectacle.
I live in New Jersey about 30-35 miles away from Krebs. RU not only must beat Louisville, but a tough Cincinnati team that has good D, an improved Syracuse team and West Virginia in Morgantown. Very unlikely, but If they rolled the table, I would feel like they deserve a shot, but they started so far behind in the polls, that it may not happen. We would have a big mess and lots of controversy if they did. That may be a good thing. Got to put this in perspective. The entire Rutgers operating budget is 1.63 billion. The state cut back funding 66 million to 315 million. It forced RU to raise tuition and institute 50 million in budget cuts. It stinks because the state cut back it’s budget 8 % yet takes a bigger chunk 15 % away from higher education. They should cut back on their state auditors half of which don’t speak English. There’s a lot of angry parents and students who stand to lose because of these budget cutbacks. How would you like it if your kid was on scholarship for the swim team and now the swim team is gone? No , it’s all included in the 315 million aid. The total athletic budget is 40 million of which 10 million goes to the football program. Oh Gip, please don’t make fun of our band. I don’t know if we have enough to dot an I let alone cross a T. Seriously, when Schiano took over we had 150 members in the band. Today we have 225. Dunno ! Good thing you ducked BYU !
Check this out: Trash article: Gene Wojciechkowski says nothing of substance. Did you know ? That the average offensive ranking of Florida's opponents is 56th out of 119 teams? Did you know? That the average defensive ranking of Florida's opponents is 49th out of 119 teams.
