Notre Dame really needs to cover the spread here. Any win next week will be plenty good enough but we need to hammer BC to hold on to the 4th spot.

Look! JO'Co is that the game! He's disguised as BC's defensive coordinator. :D

That may be the worst half of football I have ever seen.

I'll be shocked if we are still rated one of the top 4 teams. We didn't play like it tonight. Like Terry, I'll emulate kp and be just happy we were on the winning side of the score.

I can't blame this performance on Kelly. Our players were just awful.

Kizer has played poorly the last 2 weeks, Kelly keeps saying he's learning...I hope he's done learning because Stanford is the final exam.

Our defense of course gives up a couple of shake your head TD's, instead of a trick play they let their QB loose for an 80 yd TD run and then of course the late drive where the QB who can't pass, passes them down the field and passes for a TD.

As Vince Lombardi said, "What the hell is going on out here?" Of course we qualify for the Top 4: everybody else looks terrible too. There's only two undefeated teams left; Iowa and Clemson. We're a little better than Clemson on a neutral field and I think we're a LOT better than Iowa on any field. Big 12 teams have played nobody except each other. The 12Pac has formed a circular firing squad. Even mighty Alabama played a team today that two broadcasters contemptuously called "Cupcake Southern." I hope Rivalry Week can sort some of this stuff out, because right now I'm lost.

An example of the general confusion today was Memphis being blown out by Temple. The same Memphis who crushed Mississippi, who crushed Alabama...

Who's going to win the Heisman? Superman at LSU hasn't run for 100 yards in a month. All the Big 12 QBs are down and out now that Oklahoma lost Mayfield. This morning's pre-game shows touted the Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott as a Heisman favorite, then Urban didn't trust him to carry the ball. The Heisman race appears to have only two candidates left: Henry at Alabama and McCaffrey at Stanford.

I'll keep reading. Maybe you guys have this stuff figured out...

    My Report Card:

OL : D Look all tuckered out. Kizer took big hits all night. Lateral running game eliminated.

TE: C Yes, we have one. No, they are not a factor.

WR: C Still as good as any in the country but Fuller was horrendous and neutralized again. Hunter Jr. and Brown now carry the load.

RB: C- BC had a hard hitting D and these guys ran like they did not want any part of that. Procise has aged 50 years in one season.

QB: F Let's hope he can"t play any worse. Every aspect of his game was high school quality.

DL: C+ Very ordinary game against a very poor offense. They look tired.

LB: C Lots of missed tackles again.

CB: C Cole Luke was bad against a very poor passing team

S : D Again, if you want big yards against ND deep middle is always a great place to look.

ST: D Except for the punter, they stunk on ice

Coaching: D Uncle Rico's D is high risk-high reward. He will always keep you on the edge of your seat , even against a lousy offense like BC. Kelly's worst game of the year ; he seemed oddly detached through much of it as he watched a totally listless performance.

Overall: D- They won a road game but looked awful doing it. Championships never come easy. Excuses do.

Gents, I have one phrase for you:

    "JUST WIN BABY!"

Wish I could be debating the merits of a bad win at 10-1...

Russell is finished. Surgery tomorrow to insert a rod in his foot. Procise very doubtful. It's just unbelievable.

From what I read Russell is out 5-8 weeks with a broken Tibia. There's an outside choice he could see the field again. Prosise has a high ankle sprain, always a lingering type of injury.
We may have to move players up from interhall teams if this keeps up. :)

Yesterday was one of the few days in which I was able to enjoy the ESPN media circus before our game.

I notice trends and omissions they make lately, and it sure seems intentional, but I don't watch enough to say for sure.

However, their claim that no team in the country has overcome more injuries than Baylor caused the first empty of the day to go flying. We've lost more players for the year than they have had injuries all year. Oh you lost your QB, boo hoo. You lost 1 RB, boo hoo...

The thing that really bothered me is that it's not even remotely true. That's just straight out making **** up, and then reporting it.
