I thought this topic might just need a subject heading of it's own.

Not really that much controversy because there are so many head-to-head matchups coming up soon I just can't see what there is to get excited about until these games are played out and we see who is left standing.

I could get excited about Bama at #4 while UF is somehow 6 spots back at #10 but what does it matter? If either one of the two win out they will be ranked ahead of the other and deservedly so.

Just for shits and giggles though Florida and Alabama have three common opponents Ga, Tenn and Ole Miss.

Bama is 2-1 vs. those three with a cumulative score of 94-67.

Fla is 3-0 vs. those same three with a cumulative score of 93-40.

    Go figure.....

Yeah a long way to go, only FSU in last year's first poll survived to make the final 4.

Bottom line is if you lose in Nov you are out. Win them all and it's not a guarantee you are in, as I think Houston and Memphis will find out. But all you can do is win them all.

Oh and we lost an unbeaten last night when Toledo lost to N.Illionois.

There will be hand wringing in the coming weeks though as things play out. If Alabama beats LSU say 21-20 on Sat night and wins out, then they will go to the SECCG if Ole Miss loses along the way. But if LSU takes out Ole Miss they and Alabama wins out, then a 11-1 LSU could be sitting on the sidelines on Dec 5th and what will happen to them. If UF or Alabama finish at 12-1 and SEC Champs they will be in, then the hub bub will be over SEC getting 2 teams in to the final 4. Certainly other conferences will not be happy if that happens.

2 SEC teams would leave 2 slots for B12/Pac12/B1G/ACC... if Clemson wins out and say Baylor wins out and Ohio State wins out and say either ND or Stanford win out...oh boy.

BTW Big game Thursday Night with Baylor on the road with a true freshman starting his first game at Kansas State. KSU not a very good team though. Still it's a road game and his first start.

It's November.... if LSU loses to Bama then 11-1 and no conference title probably isn't enough to do it this year unless by some wild turn of events they are the only once beaten SEC team at 11-1 while everyone else in the conference including the champ has two losses.

That would be strange.... but it could happen if UF loses to FSU but wins the SEC Championship over Bama in Atlanta.

I just don't see any conference landing two teams in the top 4 this year.

We have a lot of football left. We will have a lot fewer undefeated teams than we do now. If Ole Miss wins out then that means they beat Alabama, Miss State, and Florida. Not bad. They would have 2 losses and that would mean they probably should not be in the final four. Like I said, a lot of football left. 8)

I was actually hoping for Alabama to be in about the 7th or 8th spot this week. Then if we continue to win to slowly move up, and win the SECCG and then move into the final four. :?
