This from a local OSU Bulletin Board: <Report from his HS play off game this weekend: OSU recruit Dane Sanzenbacher (Toledo Central Catholic ) was very impressive in a losing effort against Piqua (where OSU recruit Brandon Saine plays). He caught everything thrown his way and finished with 13 catches for 202 yards. He also took a few snaps from the QB position, blocked a kick and intercepted a pass. He may have even swept out the stadium after the game! Reportedly has around 60 catches and 11 TDs this year, has over 1,000 yards this year at this point. Reports are that he also popped popcorn at halftime.. (j/k) Supposedly he is a lifelong ND fan, reports are that he was in South Bend but someone didn't show up for the meeting scheduled for him so he committed to the Buckeyes. I'm not sure if they mean NO ONE showed up or a specific someone (such as Weis) didn't show up. And this is rumor so it all might not be true.> Anyone have any information from your side of the fence? Don
Never heard that story Don. I'll do some checking, although I have actually never heard of him so I doubt if he's on the A list.
I see that he committed to Ohio State in early July. Given the WR's that Charlie has been after, I doubt if he recieved an offical offer from ND back in the early summer. He's not even listed on the Scout.com prospects list for ND, which includes kids who have commited someplace else but were once ND prospects. I don't know about that story. I wonder if he had been talking to asst coaches and made an unoffical visit hoping to get an offer and Charlie didn't meet with him and the asst told him an offer wasn't forth comming so since he did have an OSU offer took it. Hope we didn't miss out on the next Santonio Holmes!
A guy I know from ND boards lives in Toledo, and his dad is in the Central Catholic HOF. Said he'd never heard that story before. Said the kid has had a great year and reminds him of Gonzalez though, catches everything.
