    This year there could be several one loss teams worthy of playoff consideration.

    Alabama or Florida if they run the table and Stanford or Notre Dame are good examples and there could/should be more by the time it's a done deal.

    Should make for interesting debate come selection time.

    Last year only FSU was unbeaten, the other 3 teams all had 1 loss. I expect the same this year. We are overdue for a big upset Sat.

    I don't think it's very likely that the SECW champ has 2 losses, but it is possible of course. So what happens if the SECW Champ does have 2 losses and beats the Gators in the SECCG? Would the SEC be left out of the playoffs? I'd hope.

    There will be so many unbeaten or one loss teams with quality resumes available for one of the 4 spots that I wouldn't quibble with a 2 loss SEC team being left out of the playoff.

    I would agree. 2 losses would not be good enough.

    My thoughts;

    If it's even close, a worthy one loss team should not bump out a worthy unbeaten team.

    Right now I see six "worthy" unbeaten teams...but they can't all remain that way because of playing each other.

    Many of the other unbeaten teams not included above will certainly be considered worthy should they remain undefeated.

    Every year at this time we look at all the unbeaten teams and debate ad nauseum which ones are most worthy and why and yada yada...and then over the next few weeks lots of them fall like bowling pins and low and behold, we start arguing about which one loss teams are most worthy...and it's usually the ones who lost early in the year and then won out.

    Get your loss early and then win out has always been the formula, only a few exceptions. I think LSU the year they won the NC lost late but still got to play for the NC. OU one year lost badly to KState in the B12 Champ game but the BCS computers still liked them and they got to play in the NC Game. Those are exceptions.

    The other formula for one loss teams is...not having 4 undefeated teams left. 8)
