and a Air Force/Navy game has broken out. Very few passes thrown in the game. Bob Davie has declared the A&M offense a modern Wishbone. OU seems to have forgotten that the forward pass exists.

    Good game though.

A&M has squandered 2 turnovers in good field position in the 2nd half.

the Air Force/Navy...er A&M/OU game is a barn burner. Ag defense has been great in the 2nd half, the offense not so much but they have closed the score to 17-14 and have just got a 3 and out from OU with good field position.

Hopefully Fran has been saving some good play calls for this drive.

Questionable decisons on going for FG's leave the Ag's hanging on for dear life...it's under 2 minutes and OU 3rd and 1. 1st down and game is over.

Stoops goes for it on 4th down and gets it ...TWICE. First time he'd called time out before the play went off, the 2nd time A&M had 12 men on the field and they made it anyway.

Very tough loss for the Aggies, the way their defense played they deserved to win. But that Aggie offense stunk.

    OU...

<t>Ran them to death now that their young O-Line has jelled. Big win for the Sooners on the road.<br/>

My Aggie son-in-law is not happy this morning.</t>

That's just it, after the first 2 drives where they did run them to death, the Ags manned up and stuffed them on the run and Paul Thompson did his best Caryle Holiday impression as a passer. When OU needed some drives in the 4th QTR they just got 3 and outs, except that last drive where they got the 4th and 1. Ags deserved better last night, but that offensive play calling for them was just awfull.

I cannot believe I drove all that way to witness that display of idiocy.

Talk about playing NOT to win. Fran's "plan" required 3 stops by our defense in the final 6 minutes. AND THEY DAMN NEAR PULLED IT OFF!

I haven't gotten confirmation that it happened, but I'm hearing that half the team couldn't believe Javorskie wasn't in when we had 3rd down from the 2. (Witnesses say he had to be restrained from the coach when the call was made!)

Two plays to take the lead, and Fran decides to get cute yet again.

It almost looked like Fran was playing to cover rather than win... Sadly, I don't think the guy is smart enough to realize what happened.

    Terry....

<t>I guess your definition of what it takes to get run on is different from mine but trust me if I give up 224 yards on the ground over 60 minutes I've been gashed buddy. To each his own, lol.</t>

Well they got most of their rushing yds in the 1st qtr and then after the Aggies stopped the bleeding and I think the Sooners only got 60yds in the final 3 qtrs. OU scored 14 points in that 1st qtr, then 3 points the rest of the way. If that getting gored then I don't know what to say then.

Terry is correct. OU's first two drives included (I think) a total of two pass attempts. They had about 160 on the ground at the end of the 1st Qtr, and 14 points.

From then on Darnell figured it out, and shut them down for only 60 yards the rest of the game.
So yes, our defense was being gashed badly, but did recover enough to easily win.

This one is ALL on Fran and his ridiculous playcalling. :x
