And we have kickoff. Not going to be able to see the whole game in real time. May the best team win. Go Vols Tennessee 28 Florida 21
Clock does not matter. What matters is that coach after coach after coach does the exact same thing. They sit on a lead. They put up a lead and then play not to lose. What does that do? Causes you to lose. Untill I see a coach on that Tennessee sideline that has the balls to call an aggressive game, Tennessee will never beat any good team. I give up! I will never change my colors but I will not be responsible for moving vans showing u on some unnamed head coach's lawn.
I agree with AJ. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'd bet you lost anywhere from 14 to 25 seconds due to that clock. At one point in time, the officials saw them running the clock and all they did was put their arms back up again to stop the clock without fixing the time.
BTW, I don't like the new clock rules. I wasn't sure about them when they were put in, but I thought I'd give it a shot. They suck.
Amazing game....probably the most exciting finish at the Swamp I can ever remember. Gators convert 5 of 5 4th downs and score the game winner on the last one. Had two of my three sons with me so it was pretty special.
We were at my Grand Niece's wedding and I didn't get to see much of the game. However we did go to dinner during the 3rd quarter and I got the password for their wifi and was able to have the game on without sound. I didn't get to watch it all of course and I am not sure what the conversation is about the clock. I had chalked this one up as a loss and the Vols sure outplayed the Gators for the first three and a half quarters. What Tom said about sitting on the ball with the lead is true and the Gators did the same thing against Kentucky and almost paid the price.
By the way, I didn't notice but have read that after the Gators called the timeout before the last field goal attempt that when the referee placed the ball it was moved some distance from the right hashmark where it had been for the first try. Was it, and if so how would that happen?
Maybe somebody will explain the issue with the clock. Corey said something about the new rules, what are they and how did they come into play in the game?
Clock issues in a UF-Tenn game..? No comment.... 8) http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20150924/COLUMNISTS/150929843/1044?Title=Dooley-Dallas-Baker-8217-s-slap-part-of-Florida-Tennessee-football-lore
Here is a clip to watch with the sound up. It was pretty unbelievable.... and loud. https://www.facebook.com/FloridaGators/videos/10153564097681071/?pnref=story I guess the Curse of Dallas Baker continues..... On a conciliatory note: I met and talked with several nice Tennessee fans and enjoyed our conversations. Even offered sincere condolences to one after the game and he was gracious and accepted them. That was one tough tough loss for any fan.
Here's someone take on the end game. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/outkick-the-coverage/butch-jones-needs-a-common-sense-coach-092715
I have to say that I had so given up on a UF win by the time Tenn went up 27-13 that I was gone as soon as we didn't make one of those 4th downs....which never happened. ( UF is in fact an astonishing 10 for 10 on 4th down attempts this season ) 4 years of having no end game heroes on the field can do that to a fan. Now enter Will Grier and Antonio Callaway among others. Heroes who get results! So I agree it was plenty there for the Tenn taking.... and magically it didn't happen.
