Have any of you Skyboxers tried this new TV service? I am tempted to try it out this fall, just to watch my Buckeyes on ESPN telecasts. Would be worth the $20.00 monthly fee for me. I refuse to pay what cable TV service wants on a monthly basis. (grin)
I discovered it in January, too late for bowl season, but i plan on trying it at the start of cfb season next year.
Jim, Sling TV is an off shot of Dish, allowing a few channels for just $20.00 per month. You can add HBO for an additional $15.00 per month if desired. Does not include local broadcast channels. Can be viewed via almost any streaming device. You can watch via your TV, tablet or PC. Separate charges apply with more than one device. More detailed info available via the internet site.
I have a SlingBox....but of course that's different. Don, don't you get B10 Network for free with your basic cable? I thought that was the original hangup with the BTN, and they held out and eventually everything worked out so that it wouldn't cost extra to have it.
This looks like the beginning of "individualized" TV. I can see where it would be a good bargain to those living in a metropolitan area where with a HD antenna they can get the major networks over the air. They could then purchase a few cable stations that they are interested in to stream. You could probably use something like chrome to watch off your flat screen. However if you rely on cable for the major free networks, it's not much help.
