Ha....That is great, I see a big future in this arena. I'm not a golf kinda guy (yeah I know this surprises everyone  ) but sporting clays is what makes life fun when given the chance. And at a $100 for a 100 round of clays it better be enjoyable and this looks fun.

My Beretta Teknys awaits the challenge.....

Ralph, I suck at sporting clays.

Live pheasants are pretty safe, too (I swear they laugh at me.)

Stick mostly to trap. Haven't shot in a while, though...most of my trap shooting buddies were older than me and now have quit (or died).

Hmmm, well it sounds like you and I need to go shoot sporting clays together then....Buddy.... :D And since I am blind in one eye it will give you the advantage..

I have only shot pheasant released from a pen into the hunting area, it was not very sporting in my opinion and nothing like a wild bird I would imagine. But I love to shoot quail which in my opinion will humble the best of shooters out there, I don't have any problems with the single birds but let a covey of a dozen or more break out and I will miss every one. Unfortunately this has become a wealthy mans sport and I only get the chance to go once or twice per year. The natural wild quail roaming around in the woods are such a rare commodity that I can't bring myself to shoot them. Fire ants and the non native cow bird have decimated our local populations.

Would be fun...every once in a while I surprise myself and shoot pretty ok.

My pheasant shooting experience has been pretty much the same as yours...not really hunting and not very sporting...not a big fan.

I'd seen that before, sure does look like fun!

My wife gave me a Tannerite kit for Christmas, but I have yet to blow anything up.
Hope to get a video of it when I do, and show off to you guys.
    :D

AJ, on private hunting reservations, they raise the pheasants...then "release" them into the fields. Then either using your own dog, or more often theirs, a group of "hunters" goes out into the field and flushes them out.

It's not real sporting. But there aren't that many wild pheasants in Ohio...even our Richland County Fish and Game Club releases pheasants out in the fields during hunting season. At least in that case you don't have guides (with walkie talkies) who know where the birds were placed. It's a little bit more like stocking a fish pond. (sigh)

I prefer shooting clay pigeons...but there aren't many good recipes for cooking them up.

    What.....? :D

Well you see pheasants don't like living in tropical climates as they are rather racist and prideful in their outlook preferring the soft hinterlands of the mid-west...So some people (mostly Gator Fans) decided to ship them into our beautiful state regardless to attempt to replicate all the fuss made by those mid-westerners who anguish on how hard it is to shoot a pheasant. So these slow moving lethargic beast of burden are kept in pens and released to the swift shooting Florida crackers to shoot at to see what all the whining the mid western guys are talking about. In the process the crackers are feeling bad with the slaughter being made of the poor pheasants and eventually decide it's not very fair to the bird even if a mid-westerner may be in the general area.

So in the end we must shoot quail better known as bob-white to provide more of a worthy target. Besides clay targets don't go well with any of the barbecue sauces I have tried....
