Good story on the new Gator coach is up on ESPN. Of course he hasn't coached in a game yet, so it's all kisses and roses right now. But reading that story you have to think he's about as prepared as you can be for a big time job like Fla. Now he just has to go out and do it, and have a little luck early on to get the ball rolling. I'm guessing that like most places he's got about 2 years to make an impression, if at the end of the 2nd year the fans don't think he's got the team headed towards the top of the SEC and in the Nat'l Champ talk then he's going to have a rough road to make it to year 5. It used to be that you got a min of 3 years and everybody made it to 5 years. Not any more. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12882333/florida-gators-new-coach-jim-mcelwain-unfazed-pressure-new-job
Loved that article.... thanks for posting it. Feeling pretty upbeat about this guy right now after reading that.

Well AJ just like Nebraska the Gators have only been a cover band recently playing in bars, etc. I do hope the new coach can get these guys back to sold out arenas... P.S. ....thanks a bunch for getting that song stuck in my head lol.
I had to look that up, AC/DC eh? I don't think I know any song that AC/DC ever sung, never was a fan.
For probably 15-18 years the Florida Gator's entrance to the Swamp before a game was orchestrated to the AC-DC hit "Thunderstruck". The place would be at an absolute frenzy by the time the players ran on to the field. Lots of fun..... because in those days most times the team itself did a little thunderstriking of it's own once the game started.
Thanks Terry. That picture of him at his desk in Orange and Blue regalia with a big smile on his face is pretty much the way I have him pictured since he has been at Florida. His press conference where he was introduced as the new coach was quite a contrast from the previous three since Spurrier. The other three all stood at the microphone and were obviously a little tense, maybe sweating a little and very intense. On the other hand Mac strode to the microphone with a big smile on his face looked at the audience with an even bigger smile and calmly said how you all doing today? Very light and friendly. Very confident. I love him so far and hope he is very successful, I am tired of changing out a coach every 4-6 years.
Doc!! You ain't that old....try "You shook me all night long", or "Have a drink on me"....or the timeless classic of "Whole Lotta Rosie"
OK I had to look those up...In a gadda da vida..that's Iron Butterfly! Auld Lang Syne? That one I know not just from New Years Eve..but I actually liked and listened to Dan Folegberg back in the day! But I wouldn't have thought you were a Dan Folegberg fan!
