Man is it green around our area now. This is a great time of year. Not as nice as fall... but pretty darned good. After some winter changes (new slider seats) I dusted off the buggy (literally... it's covered in oak pollen even in the garage!) and took it around town yesterday. I'm still amazed at how many people wave, or just point. It's not a Ferrari, or anything fancy. Guess its the high unique factor...
Very cool Scott.... My spring sprung February 25 with our first peach harvest, the first peaches harvested in North America...Worked the past 33 of 36 days harvesting and packing the damn things...Bought a new truck in between, Ecodiesel at 29 miles to the gallon. My Dog Amos (German Short Hair Pointer) wondering why I am at the packing house at 4:30 in the morning. Eight more days to go until we are finished, planning on going to the Bahamas with my bride once completed to remind her that we are indeed still married and that she is not a peach widow....
Phew! That is some long hours. Hope the Bahamas makes it worth it! Gotta love diesels. The only way to go in a truck.
I was looking at your Power Stroke in the background of your picture, I've always wanted one but could not justify it because I don't pull trailers very much. Then Dodge offered this new diesel in a half ton and it made sense, never been a Dodge person but I've been impressed so far.
To be honest, it's way more truck than I need right now as well. BUT... the wife loves to trail ride and wants to get a goose-neck 3-horse trailer with living quarters someday. I went ahead and skipped a step and got the last truck I plan to buy. You know Dodge motors are solid (especially the Cummins diesel), the only complaint I've heard in the past was that the rest of the truck wouldn't last as long as the drive train. I'd guess that's behind them by now. I think those are SHARP looking trucks! Let me know what you think of the built in tool boxes. Very cool idea, just couldn't make up my mind if I was willing to give up the bed width for it.
Yeah the Rambox is really cool, I gave up auto folding mirrors to get this accessory and as a tree crop farmer that is saying something. Here is a pic I took yesterday with my Mopar purchase where you turn one of the rambox compartments into a gun rack. Pictured are my twin Ruger rifles chambered in .204 and 6.5 Creedmoor after installation yesterday. Cool thing is the rambox locks exactly like the doors, hit the key fob and its locked. Bed width is no issue at the moment, can't see me missing anything. I literally have every option known to mankind on this truck, A/C seats, heated seats and steering wheel, WiFi, fuel economy, leather package, auto texting, auto wipers, auto headlights etc and 8 speed transmission.... I always wanted a diesel and now with the expected 29 gallons per hour it was worth the extra money.
They lock from the fob?? That is muy bueno!!!! Love the gun rack, I would never have thought of that.
Ah man the ramifications with what you just brought to light is something I will never live down...Dodge did have a special Texas edition though
Added a tachometer to my buggy. Now I will know when I'm about to blow the motor instead of just assuming. 8)
