I don't expect anyone here to comment. This is just my way of paying my respects to a good man and a good coach, who hid his grief from his team because he wanted it to be all about them. It takes a tough man with a big heart to do what he did last night. The following article describes how the team found out. It's one more chapter in a journey that's been incredible regardless of what happens at the next level.

I wondered how he told the team, when he sat down at the Press Conf after the game he got right to it and I thought at the time the team probably already knew, didn't really even think that it was odd that there were no team members with him at the press conference opening.

    This say's a lot about Brey's Mom.

Hey Sid, just saw this. That had to have been one of the hardest things to do, private man or not. Big respect.

Sid, sorry I am late in commenting but Notre Dame obviously has a great coach and even greater man.

From reading the article about his mother you can see he comes from a good background.

I will be watching Notre Dame with more interest this weekend.

Wow...what a story. Shows a lot of class by all involved.

I did a little reading and saw that she also served in the US Army as an officer.

And I can be a little bit proud of her, too.

A Purdue athlete and majorette. Heck of a combination.
