The Jackie Robinson West Little League team may have cheated by recruiting players from outside it's geographic district.

The Asians fake birth certificates to put together their teams, our teams are all star teams to start with, so why oh why would you bring in ringers!! I hope it's not true!

Cheating in Little League...what an example.

Some of the worst examples of of cheating and poor sportsmanship I have ever witnessed in sports took place in Little League baseball.

Tough call for LL. They could do what's right but YOU KNOW that they'll be called racist.

The great weakness of Little League is that it relies entirely on the parents to ensure that the rules are followed. Unfortunately, its often the parents who're the source of the problem and the cheating is by design.

You know, the funny thing about coaching kids.

I never stopped hating the parents, no matter what level I was coaching.

Seems the worst offenses are lying about age.

What's depressing is that even when the US has a team that cheated to fortify it's roster, it still couldn't beat the Korean team.

I guess it's "Baseball, sushi, apple pie and Kia."

LL has made the call and stripped them of the championship, as well as suspending the manager. They used a falsified boundary map, how sporting.

Did they say how many kids shouldn't have been on the team?

Thanks for pointing me to the article. Glad nobody is calling out specific kids.

Agreed. The kids are victims here. How could they have known what was happening in the proverbial smoke-filled rooms full of crooked adults? How do the adults explain to their sons what they did?

I'm pleased to see the reaction of the Nevada folks, as depicted in the article.

    :(

What a sad deal for those Nevada kids. They had their heads handed to them in the West Regionals for something like 50 years by SoCal, NoCal and Hawaii...then they finally eliminate ALL of those teams and their reward was to be cheated in the end by crooked adults from Chicago. They'll never know if they could have beaten that Korean team or not, but I sure wish they could have had the chance...

In reviewing the videos of the news coverage, I see that the Gipper is right again. One news conference had both Father Pfleger and Jesse Jackson using the magic word "racist" and calling Little League's decision "an attack on the children."

This is made to order for Jesse Jackson. This will pay the rent for another year or two.

I don't know how I'd feel if I got a championship awarded to me that I lost on the field, a year later. We had a Houston area HS basketball team be awarded a State Championship like that, they lost on the court to a Dallas area team that was later found to have used an ineligible player. The school celebrated their 1st State Championship, but to me it seems sort of hollow.

I'm with Vince Young, when they took away Reggie Bushes Heisman Trophy and there was talk about giving it to him since he finished 2nd that year, he said he didn't want it. They of course decided that offically there would not be a winner that year.

Now there have been number of olympic medals taken away over the years for winners testing positive for drugs. I could see that if I was beaten for the gold by a guy who was juicing, I'd take the gold and be proud.
