I am still dazzled by the performance of this kid on Sat night in Lubbutt Texas. He really showed me something. Lubbutt is a very hostile environment for the Longhorns, the place is packed to the gills will crazy Longhorn hating fans. When we got down 21 points, I thought uh oh, not a good place to be for a RS freshman QB, who supposedly doesn't have a strong arm and is not Vincent Young. But the kid really showed me that he is a winner and he can throw the ball downfield, and if you watched you saw that he can run the ball. If the Longhorns win out the regular season and the B12 Championship. The kid will comeback next year in the conversation for the Heisman. I wonder what Jevan Snead and John Brantley are thinking? At the start of the season based on talent and potential it seemed like Colt would merely be holding a spot for a year or so till those guys are ready to play. Now it's looking more like Colt has great leadership and the toughness and determination to be a 4 year starter. Injuries of course could change that. I didn't even mention that we have 2 other QB's Sherrod Harris who is red shirting this year and is a mobile QB type like Troy Smith and another Troy Smith type kid in John Chiles comming in with Brantley. We've gone from QB poor to QB rich...I wonder how long it will last or wheter or not we'll see some transfers or possibly Brantley deciding not to come. Terry
I'm hearing in Florida that there is a chance Brantly pulls a Snead and changes his commitment to Florida or some other college. McCoy sure does sound like the real deal.
McCoy <r>Terry,<br/> <br/> I heard McCoy is considering transfering to Tex A&M. Maybe just a rumor but...... <E>8)</E></r>
Bill, Stoops is putting the full court press on Brantley, he can promise him the starting job next year because the Sooners don't really have a backup QB who's very good. I wouldn't be surprised though if he doesn't change his mind. The tough part about this for the young QB's is that if McCoy is the "real deal" he's not likely to be leaving early for the NFL. He's a good college QB but at this point I don't see him being anybody the NFL would get excited about. So they are going to be trying to beat him out for the next 3 years. Terry
