Scout.Com put out their final top 100 for 2015. Here are some notes on the top 100 class.

The positional breakdown for the top 100: 13 cornerbacks, 12 running backs, 12 receivers, 11 defensive tackles, 9 defensive ends, 9 quarterbacks, 8 outside linebackers, 8 offensive tackles, 7 offensive guards, 5 safeties, 3 middle linebackers and 3 tight ends.

Alabama leads the way with 10 commitments in the Scout 100, followed by 7 each from Florida State and USC, 6 from Georgia, and 4 from LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

The two teams who played in the national championship game, Ohio State and Oregon, each had three players in the top 100, with quarterback Torrance Gibson (No. 51), Ohio State's top commit and defensive end Canton Kaumatule (No. 16), Oregon's top commit.

The big three of Texas, California and Florida had almost half of prospects in the Scout 100 with 18 from Texas, 16 from California and 14 from Florida. Georgia also reached double-digits with 11 from the state.

St. Catharines (Ontario) Canada Prep Football Academy defensive lineman Neville Gallimore is the lone Canadian prospect in the top 100.

Rivals shows what a joke it is by posting a story about kids who are "moving" in the rankings.
Really?... in the 3 weeks since the season ended you can justify moving kids hundreds of slots?
Wow... they really improved over the Christmas break!

    Recruit moves

So... LB Anthony Wheeler supposedly got better than 162 other kids while eating turkey and opening gifts?
And QB Jake Browning is suddenly 164 slots better?

    What a farce...

Anthony Wheeler should've been a top 100 player from the start those idiots just never watched any of his film or saw him play...but Charley Strong knew it all along! Congrats to the kid for finally getting the recognition he deserved.

BTW: What's up with the Chris Warren visit to CS? Hasn't he seen that CS is the place where RB go to kill their careers? :)

You make my point for me Terry... by this point in the process there should be only minor changes to player rankings.
If they still have it this wrong... then they weren't worth a hill of beans to start.

I'm guessing Warren saw the Liberty Bowl, and the beginnings of a change in our offense. Carson got a majority of the carries, and miracle of miracles... it worked.
We also have a new running game coordinator coming in to continue the evolution.

Are all your friends in a tizzy over Kyler and Damarkus visiting Austin today?
    I wouldn't get too excited...
I doubt Murray wants multiple concussions in his freshman year.
    :p

The number of stars a high school player has (and therefore the recruiting rankings) are just another way for these "experts" to get hits on their websites. We've still got 2 weeks before signing day so who knows what will happen between now and then and even then, the 5 stars will still have to be coached up. Bring on spring practice! 8)

One of my friends knows Kevin Murray, and he says the story RE Kyler and D Lodge is pretty funny. He wont say.more til signing day.
He does say we arent the ones who need to be concerned.
Fortunately I dont worry too much about what high school kids decide.
Logic is often not part of the equation for them.

You better hope Harbaugh doesn't steal your lone QB.

Yeah I saw that Harbaugh is going after Gentry and Gentry supposedly has removed "Texas Commit" from some Bio someplace. We still have Matthew Merrick, a QB from your neck of the woods (Irving), but Kai Locksley is coming in this weekend for an OV. Mod's on the InsideTexas site are predicting we'll definitely have 2 QB's in the class from Murray, Gentry, Merrikck and Locksley. ...just which two is the issue.

Dylon Mack is taking his OV to Austin this weekend.

But we are definitely in QB hell right now. Heard is supposedly a very athletic kid, but not too smart and he needs a very simple playbook. Who knows if Swoopes will finally have a light go on for him, hasn't happened yet...but you never know. Murray would probably be the starter from day 1 if he came. Doubtful Gentry would be the starter.

I really wish we'd either pickup a graduate transfer or a JC QB.

Numbers-wise, we're not much better off.
Sumlin promised Murray he'd be the only QB we'd take in this class and he's holding to that.
So we have Kyle Allen, and Murray on scholarship for 2015 after Hill transfers.
The other 3 guys we have are all walk-ons...

Not exactly the same deal Ohio St has going!

Down to the nitty gritty. Most of our favorite teams are pretty much finished only a few guys out there to flip or get committed.

ND. Might take 3 more kids, a WR named St. Brown who has been reported to be a "silent" committ, a RB from Fla named Williams a former Miami verbal who will make a NSD decision, and some safety maybe. There are several kids who the Irish are after at Safety but none have pulled the trigger and the list has grown shorter. It's possible maybe even likely that we'll strike out on the 3rd guy.

Texas. It's either going to be a big finish with a flourish with 5* QB from Allen named Murray shocking the Ag's and going to Texas and triggering a cascade of big verbals from his top WR and a big time defensive player previously committed to A&M named Dylon Mack. Then throw in a possible committ from highly ranked RB SoSo Jamado and WOW. Or it could be thud and long Longhorn faces.

Alabama will finish with the #1 Class again.

Tenn is going to finish again with another highly ranked class, Butch Jones is rebuilding the program with big time talent.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens on NSD. :)

Florida is a top two finalist for two five star players that could seriously upgrade this year's class ranking.... Byron Cowart and Martez Ivey.

The kicker is that the other finalist is Auburn and Will Muschamp.

Probably would have been UF locks if Muschamp was allowed to stay at UF.

This is why I hate coaching changes even when it seems necessary for progress.

Hate to read stuff like this:

"Cowart took an official visit to Auburn last weekend, and hinted at the possibility of a "package deal" with 5-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson and 4-star linebacker Jeffery Holland. The Florida trio has been heavily considering the Tigers ever since Will Muschamp was hired as Auburn's defensive coordinator"

Makes me wish Muschamp would have taken a job outside the SEC.

No one is "TALKIN BOUT DA COACH O! HEZZU OUT CROOTIN DA BESST!"

Seriously, no one seems to be talking about Coach O. That dude is a machine and he can harvest talent like few others.

Skybox update on where your team ranks. This is the 247 Composite.

    1. Alabama..will stay there too.

    4. Tenn ...has another huge class with 29 kids, are they through?

    7. Ohio State

    9. Texas A&M...but what if Kyler Murray flips to Texas?

    10. Notre Dame ...only a couple more guys that might join this class. Funny thing is that it's likely to end up a top 10 class but there is more than a few who are ho hum it's really not that great.

    12. Texas...could jump way up if 4 guys come to Austin. Dylon Mack, Kyler Murray, SoSo Jamabo, and DeMarkus Lodge. That would be a signing day coup for Charlie Strong that would have the Longhorns partying all night.

    18. UCLA ..I'm sort of surprised to see them here, because it seems like all the top rated kids we want at ND, all are from the coast and like UCLA. Yet they are being waxed by USC on the Coast in recruiting.

    20. Miami..I'm sure Miami fans are disappointed, one of Al Golden's strengths has been recruiting. I'm sure Hurricane fans envisioned top 10 classes with Golden

    33. Wash State. The Pirate is doing better than his replacement at Tech Coach GQ.

    34. Neb...coaching turnover is always tough on the recruiting front.

    38. Arizona...RR never really seems to need highly rated talent to get his teams winning.

    53. Indiana...for Sid

    59. Purdue.

    69. Michigan...now that Harbaugh is on the job they are starting to rise a little bit. Stole a QB from Texas, a highly rated one to boot.

    78. Gators. If you can believe it they are ranked below Fla. Atlantic but ahead of FIU in the Sunshine State. FIU the lowest ranked Fla team.

I expect both the Gators and Mich will rebound next year and both will have top 10 classes.

Florida has 2 or 3 on the table that could propel them to a top 25 class or so.

I basically expect a couple of them to sign with UF and get that class ranking to a top 30 which wouldn't be so bad given where they are right now.

Getting zero top surprises and staying where they are would be disappointing but understandable considering the circumstances.

Ditto on Harbaugh..... anything great he does in this recruiting class is just a bonus for UM>
