    :x

I've been having problems downloading things. Today I installed the new Turbo Tax and it wouldn't run, because it said that there's something wrong with corrupted fonts in my system. It also said that the way to correct this was to download and install some European Union fonts. When I tried to do this, it gave me the same error message:

"Your current settings do not allow this file to be downloaded."

Where can I fix this setting?

    :!:

I tried to install Euro fonts yesterday, but I get the same error message. It won't allow me to download almost anything, because of a missing font.

I wrote you back on this but I know you check here before email sometimes.

You should have (because I know you generally keep these things) the OEM for anything related to that computer or the software. You should have the OEM number for the computer, the software (microsoft or turbotax). I have long been one of those people who refused to pay for anything. Call me an old school computer user. However, I'm getting too old for this ****, so I finally bought a copy of Microsoft Office because my son will need it for school and we just got a new laptop. Anyway, it used to be that you'd buy the software and that's that. Now, you can pay 1 time for the software, OR you can do a monthly renewal OR you can do an annual renewal. The importance of the latter 2 is that you get all the updates as they come along. With the one time purchase, you're getting it as is and that's that. Since the boy will need this stuff daily for at least the next several years here, I went with the annual renewal. When he goes to college, I'll get him the student version. Anyway, the point being is that I had to enter the license number for each of the programs. It appears that they're using those oem's as tracking tickets for support/installation. They may be referring to your version of Windows.

Solved! It took me three hours and $200, but the problem of the fonts is solved. I think those guys in India scammed me, but they did solve the problem.

why did it cost you 200 bucks? Did you have to buy an updated Microsoft license?

No. I bought a maintenance contract with some computer repair outfit to keep my computer running for a year.
