Manny Diaz who left Texas in disgrace, has made it back to the big time and will be the new DCoord at Miss State.
Bob Stoops is cleaning house at OU. Even Mike Stoops is reportedly looking around for another job. Fired his Nat'l Championship QB, Josh Heupel and several other coaches.
Well he had some pretty good defenses at MSU before he left for Texas. But B12 offenses had his number, so back to the SEC.
Oh this rumor is just too juicy not to post it for Scott. Jake Spavital to OU as their next OCoord!! Scott pony up for helping with his move!
Terry... I'm getting older you know... It's not nice to yank a guys chain like that! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET HIM GO!!!!
It's offical D.J.Durkin to Mich as DCoord. He worked with Harbaugh at Stanford and had some really good defenses at UF. I wonder how much of the Gator Defenses were Muschamp and how much was Durkin?
In Muschamp's first two years he had Dan Quinn of the Seahawks as his DC. I wish we could have kept Durkin to keep some of that Muschamp flavor on D.
Didn't realize you guys had Dan Quinn in 2011 and 2012...that 2012 defense was a hell of a defense, had to basically carry the offense the whole season.
That defense was good enough that it would have carried the 2012 Gator team into the BCS Title game if ND had not held on vs. USC.
Hey Louisville was a buzzsaw.... I definitely think UF was caught unaware of their capabilities for whatever reason. The bottom line is that UF's 2012 defense almost played them in to the title game but in reality the Gators were Muschamp's team through and through and his 2 year downward slide into a DC job at Auburn began that night in the Sugar Bowl.
I know, just pulling your chain. I think Muschamp does a good job with D.. it's the rest of the stuff that seems to be a problem.
Not surprising Greg Mattison is going to stay at UM as a coach under new DCoord Durkin. Matty is nothing if not adaptable, Davie demoted him from DCoord when he was at ND and he stayed on when Davie was fired to help the new Staff was the glue with the recruiting transition. I'm sure that besides being a good coach, Harbaugh realized that Matty has always been a good recruiter and he will no doubt help the new guys that Harbaugh brings in to get up to date on guys Hoke had targeted and where potential targets are for UM. Greg's daughter is a ND grad and played softball at ND. He was vilified by ND fans for what many thought was unethical behavior in his transition from ND to Fla to work with Meyer. But IMHO a good move by Harbaugh to offer Mattison a position on the new staff.
Harbaugh seems to be putting together an effective staff which is no surprise. Two years tops and Michigan is back on the national scene.
Interesting..... Schools that have fired three coaches since 2001 (with win totals before this year’s bowl games): Nebraska, 121 Notre Dame, 105 UCLA, 99 Mississippi, 86 Washington, 76 Colorado, 70 Kansas, 65 Indiana, 55 Of these eight, only Kansas won a BCS bowl game.
