One week to go and no serious injuries from the Alabama game. A few days to enjoy our victory over the Crimson Tide and back to work this week. Ohio State will leave for Dallas on Friday.

We will be a 7 point underdog again, but the Buckeyes do not seem to know what being an underdog curtails?

On paper it looks like a possible shootout, but defense will win this game!

    Thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to this game. I like Oregon to win, but the Buckeyes aren't likely to make it easy. I sort of see this game as a toss up really. No way Ohio State makes all the mistakes that FSU made, so I expect a very close game either way.

I have to go with the hot hand.....Meyer and the Buckeyes in a high scoring 45-41 type of game.

Now Sid has to take the Ducks in order to have a chance..... 8)

Dave, I was confused to read that it was between you and me, because I'm in 4th place, so I checked out the remaining points for each player. Boondock Muskies has a max of 528 points when he makes his pick for the NC game, which he hasn't done yet. JO'Co's pick for the NC game will earn him 2 points, which would not allow him to overtake you, even if you lose. Thus, it appears that there are three players who have a chance, you, me and Boondock.

Hey! I'd be happy just remain 4th, which is by far the best I've ever done in this pool.

Heck I didn't realize Boondock had not made his CG pick.

Crap.... I'll have to switch to the Ducks against my better judgement cause you know Boondock has to be going Buckeyes.

I agree that the defenses will make or break this game. Both of these defenses are better than people realize. Oregon has been bitten by the injury bug all year long and they lost another great player for the year in the Rose Bowl.

I think it'll come down to turnovers and defense. Cliche, I know but I think it's true.

Speaking of the Oregon Offense, I'm surprised Scott Frost didn't get a sniff for some of the jobs out their this year.

Yeah, Deadspin tried to make an issue out of the marketing around the uniforms. Those guys have funny stuff, but whenever they seriously over reach sometimes.

I think Oregon wins, but Meyer has done a fantastic job at Ohio State.

He seems much more relaxed on the sidelines and in press conferences than he was at Florida.

I have to say that I am surprised he was able to make the change so quickly and that at one time I had a real concern for his well being after that loss to Alabama in 2009.

On the good news side for the Gators, the OC for Alabama in that game is now our head coach. :)

Not that the following statistic has any bearing on this game, but Oregon is
    0-8 against Ohio State?

I am pleased to see we will be wearing Scarlet and Gray uniforms in this game. Oregon will be wearing white and gray.

Wrong. They will be wearing silver. Only one team wears Gray.

lol the only thing that matters is who is wearing the ring afterwards ;)

I expect the Buckeyes to just take over Dallas. It's nothing against Oregon, but they do have a much smaller fan base than the Buckeyes. They're every bit as crazy, but there just aren't a lot of them.

I was glad to see the playoff committee offer to start paying travel and lodge for the families of the players. That's the right thing to do when you're raking the kind of money they are for this thing.

    Corey,
I agree about the family travel thing but the NCAA is only doing it for the PR. They don't give a **** about the families. :x

Corey, as you know, Meyer has been very vocal about pushing for the families.
