No. I don't want Davis over Shula. I think we are in better shape than most people think. We have lost 5 games in the last 1.5 seasons. All except two losses were by less than a touchdown and all were to teams ranked in the top 15 (I think). One of the losses by more than a touchdown we led with 5 minutes to go. Now all of that explaining sounds like rationalization but you have to remember we are coming out from under scholarship restrictions. Next year is the turning point. Shula's first year's recruits (reduced number by sanctions) will be seniors, but his 2 most recent years are full classes. Let's see what happens next year. If we don't show improvement and beat some of these ranked teams then the seat will get warm quickly, but I'm not acknowledging that a coaching change is needed yet. Let Davis use Bama as a bargaining tool if he wants to but I don't want him. I'm sticking with Shula.
If Bama gets rid of Shula now I would be shocked. But stranger things have happened. Butch Davis would likely be a very good coach but he has some baggage.
