Really man? The SEC East can go unbeaten in the bowls if Tenn and UF lodge Ws in their respective bowl games. Actually the SEC needs both to win in order for the conference to have a winning record this bowl season which has been an annual occurrence for quite a few years. The conference has been put into this unfamiliar position of needing both to win due to the chokesters over on the west side.....
The East is not good and has some really favorable matchups. Iowa is pretty awful, so I'd be shocked if UT doesn't win now that they've got their man at QB. East Carolina just might beat Florida. Those are 2 really weird teams that are hard to figure.
I do realize of course it is about the matchups but still that would be an odd result for the East to go unbeaten in their bowls while the West mucks it up badly.
Oh yeah, it's certainly a 'who'd of thunk it?' kinda deal. Georgia and Missou had nice wins. I sincerely mean that. Hats off to those East teams for bowing up and playing strong. The ENTIRE SEC West went bowling, which should bring about some level of fussing, but their only 2 wins were by the 2 bottom ranked teams (A&M and Arkansas).
I hear you but how did the SEC East do in head to head with teams from the West. I know Alabama beat Tennessee, Florida and Missouri. MCG, I'm sure you have the records of all of the SEC East teams against the chokesters on the tip of your tongue, right?
MCG, Geez, man, we take enough **** from these non-SECers. We certainly don't need it from the peanut gallery within the SEC.
Im just so used to having to duke it out with these other guys about this that I took a little offense at being called a chokester by another SEC cohort. Now if you want to go into "rivals" then that is familiar territory for you and me.
Interesting Kp that in pregame the Meyer-Saban "rivalry" was a topic... I guess now that stands at 2-2.
A little support to the strength of the SEC from "top to bottom" being one of the strongest in CFB: The SEC East goes 5-0 in the bowls! Well done boys!
Lots of young players played well and played hard. RS Adam Lane ran for 109 yards, Ahmad Fullwood and Demarcus Robinson played well at WR and Vernon Hargraves showed off his AA talent. This team wound up 7-5..... could have been 8-5 if they had squeaked out a win over Idaho  , and then had the almost inexplicable close loss to SC and the improbable last second loss to LSU plus they played FSU very tight. Could have easily been 10-3 with losses to Al, Mo and FSU so there is a lot to look forward to I would say.
East Carolina picked in the end zone at least once in the 4th. This game went exactly how I thought it would go, which is why I picked the Gators in the contest. They just have so many great athletes....but they are just so bad.. Still, too many athletes for East Carolina. #6 carried the day for the Gators. Good job guys. I see Driskell has asked to be let off his scholarship. Thanks for the memories, Jeff.
Somebody knocked the chocolate out of Adam Lane. Quick uniform change and back in the game. <iframe width="854" height="510" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/TaP4PZNcKQg" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Terry, yesterday was kind of a mixed bag for the Gators. Never mind all the offense ECU had it was the defense making big plays that won the game for the Gators. The offense didn't look that good but the play of Adam Lane was a real bright spot. I wondered all year long why he wasn't playing more and wonder even more now. I don't know why Kelvin Taylor didn't play but I do think that between Taylor and Lane we should be fine at running back next year. We also have Brandon Powell as a RB, he caught one of the TD passes. I expect he will move to WR. The star of the game was #6 Dante Fowler Jr. He was an animal on defense and is going to the NFL where he will be a high draft pick. It was nice to see Jeff Driskel make a play on his last meaningful snap as a Gator. On third down he ran for a first down that allowed us to run out the clock. He came in as a highly rated QB but just never worked out at Florida. He has graduated with a year of eligibility left and has received his release to transfer. I hope he goes somewhere and does well. On the other hand he got a bonus as a baseball player so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in that direction. The Mac era is now upon us and I am impressed with him so far. I hope he can salvage this recruiting class and the Gators can get back into contention sooner rather than later.
"but the play of Adam Lane was a real bright spot" Hmmmm Bill..... perhaps you could have stated that better... lol
