Great article.... and I agree 110% : http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2308112-how-jim-harbaugh-and-urban-meyer-can-save-the-big-ten Can you imagine the headlines every football season.... ( and recruiting season) of Meyer vs. Harbaugh? It would be Bo vs. Woody, Spurrier vs. Fulmer or Spurrier vs. Bowden. Come on Michigan..... make this happen!!
Interesting that Saban has so elevated himself in the SEC that he really has no SEC peer. Meyer could have been that guy at UF but he didn't have the stamina at the time to keep up the fight. Truthfully I am not certain that he would at OSU either if Harbaugh really became a pain in the ass.
Everything I read on ND message boards indicates everybody has a friend in the know at UM or actually in the Ath Dept and they are all nearly 100% sure that Harbaugh will be announcing at the end of the SF season that he will be leaving the NFL for Michigan.
There is some basketball game coming up on Tues and Harbaugh will be introduced to the crowd then...probably something about beating Ohio. Isn't that what Tressel said, something about beating that Team Up North?
Bobda, That is fantastic. With you off the schedule, I eagerly look forward to the return of 'the Michigan man.' Mostly because you guys typically do well against SEC teams and somehow, everyone has managed to forget the how/why/where/what of how much they used to hate you. I assure you though, Jimmy Hardnuts will soon be there to remind them.
ESPN now saying Harbaugh to Michigan. I wonder how long till Harbaugh has Urban Meyer in the same grip as he did Pete Carroll in 2009? Sort of harkens back to the game where Woody went for 2 after a TD and was asked why he went for 2 and he replied because I couldn't go for 3! Game on!
Something tells me that UM-OSU is going to be relevant again real soon. Provided Meyer decides that he can put up with the B/S that Harbaugh is sure to sling his way often. Supposedly Meyer is resolved to stick it out in Columbus and has changed his unhealthy ways that caused him to exit UF prematurely. A lot of Gator fans think that having Saban as a conference meany had something to do with Meyer's departure and indirectly if not directly that intense level of competition may have contributed to his exit. I suspect Harbaugh will provided Meyer with a challenge of his newfound ability to chill when necessary for good health.
Thanks Corey, I am more stunned than elated since I really thought that Harbaugh would stay in the NFL. In contrast to Brandon, it is clear that our new AD is a pro. He was the former CEO of Steelcase, a world class office furniture manufacturer, and turned that company around when they were getting hammered by Chinese imports. With the Harbaugh situation, he moved quietly, solitited big donor contributions, and was able to put together the proverbial "offer you can't refuse". Harbaugh has his work cut out for him. M presently is still significantly behind the elite schools in terms of talent and the B10 East will be back alley brawl with competitors such as Urban, Dantonio, and Franklin being more than willing to take on the challange posed by Harbaugh's hiring. But, given Harbaugh's maniacal personality and coaching skill, I really do think he will turn this program around immediately.
No need to log onto university approved store to buy khakis marked up by 300%. I can just hop over to Walmart and buy the same khakis Harbaugh wears. http://deadspin.com/photo-evidence-of-jim-harbaugh-buying-walmart-khakis-1502087325
So Jim is one of the Walmart Wolverines!! I think it was last year his wife was quoted as saying that she begs him to upgrade his sideline gear, she doesn't approve. For 8M/yr I'm sure she'll find a way!! I wonder if Brady will send him some Uggs. http://walmartwolverines.com/
