R.I.P. Ernie Terrell

    He was not historically significant in the history of boxing, but he was a main character in what was in my lifetime the golden era of boxing in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. He was heavyweight champ for a while because Ali had vacated the title, but when they fought, Ali beat him convincingly. While some ex-pugs have a tough life after boxing, the article describes his post-ring life as successful. He was 75 and had alzheimer's.

    I was not a great boxing fan and I can not remember him. Makes for an interesting read though.

    I remember Ernie, but I don't remember anything other than he was a boxer.

    I remember him very well and I also remember that his sister was in a singing group called The Supremes...
