   AJ why would we drive 4 hours to watch SC play,,,,,, not to mention the cost of the tickets when I can turn them off on TV..... we live on the other side of the mountains now remember. Last year we took Carson to the Bowl game because we thought he would love going there for Christmas..... and I never wear SC colors :x :x :x
As Terry said above, Mykelti Williams, a safety from Warren Central HS in Indy, Sheldon Day's HS, has committed to ND. He was the runner-up for Indiana Mr. Football. http://www.indystar.com/story/sport...elti-williams-commits-to-notre-dame/20638247/
they have offered the kid from Florence here locally who is committed to Louisville. At the time, the kid said that it changed things and he'd have to consider all his options. I really hope they are able to pressure him. They've got 8 scholarship players on that team and I thought he was the most impressive (including Anderson who is going to Alabama). The thing I really liked about him is that he's bigger and faster than he's listed. I've seen this a few times in my 14 years following recruiting here. Some kid is a 2 or 3 star listed at 6 feet and slightly above average speed, than somehow he gets to an SEC school (or in this case ACC) and he's 2 inches taller and 2 tenths faster. He had a good frame that could either stay as a safety, or you could bulk him into a really fast LB (I bet that's what he does in college). I haven't heard much in the past few weeks on the situation, so I don't know what's up. We really don't see ND in this area much and that's a shame.
Kelly Quotes.. On Nyles Morgan: "Continued confidence and learning. Plays fast. The one thing I love about Nyles is he is so thick-skinned. He is a bull and keeps coming at you, wants to learn every day. If doesn't matter if he made 53 mistakes the previous day, he comes to work every day. He's going to be a special player. Just a lot of learning and teaching at the middle linebacker position. Kuechly and Te'o couldn't do it as freshmen." Kelly says Jaylon Smith will continue to be an inside player. Nyles Morgan can play all three linebacker positions, Kelly says. On O-line: "Love what I see from McGlinchey. Ronnie has taken more of a leadership role, I liked his fire yesterday in practice. Nick continues to work at his position, Elmer clearly. And freshman Alex Bars is one of best I've seen in 25 years. He's that good of a player. If there is one offensive guy I can point to, Alex clearly stands out." Other players emerging: "Quenton Nelson is going to be a really good player for us. From defensive standpoint, Bonner and Jhonny Williams will stand out more. They're physical and make plays.
ND <r>Some good news on the D-Line also for the LSU game.<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> The Irish may make a game out of this yet.</r>
Austin Torres was a late addition to the class with D.J. Jackson, a lot of people were critical of Brey for taking him. He was a verbal to a MAC school if I remember and many were saying it was only because he was a friend of Jacksons..would never play, etc. Well that kid is starting to prove those people wrong, he looks tough and solid.
USA Today has a big spread on Demetrius Jackson's dunk on the 7'2" Purdue kid... Jackson should have gone to the line as well, the Purdue kid whacked him pretty hard on the head and shoulders..nothing malicious just the usual that goes on in basketball..but Jackson should have gone to the line. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/12/notre-dames-demetrius-jackson-lays-waste-to-purdue-7-footer-with-powerful-dunk
Ofer cripes sakes. Our kids fold like cheap suits at the end of the game, we lose by a gazillion points, your short kid posterizes our very promising freshman...and you want an effin free throw? I'd give you one if I could.
Guy on another board said that the Irish are headquartered at his old school in Nashville...Fr. Ryan HS. Said that they have had a number of bowl teams use them as their local HQ for bowl prep. But said the Irish have locked the place down like it was a high security prison. From that I think it's clear Kelly is installing the Navy Triple Option and wants to surprise LSU.
I don't disagree with Terry. Whatever the offense is......it will feature a whole lot of Malik run option and pass option. The future is now.... It also means the defense is still banged up and we're going to try and out-score them...
Christmas Eve 2008....Jimmy Clausen's Perfect Game. Irish break 9 game bowl losing streak. Man I went to bed that night thinking of future sucess by Charlie and Jimmy!! Sometimes you get Sugar Plums and sometimes you get a sack of Coal. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/lRgGpMhNb4E" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Well Kelly has announced Malik Zaire will be the starter agains LSU. To tell you the truth I'm more than a little surprised. I really thought he'd go with Golson but have a short leash. This sort of ties in though with the rumor that Kelly is planing on running a lot of read option vs LSU, something that Golson is not esp good at running. If Zaire plays well in the game, this sort of sets up a real competition this coming Spring with Golson. That assumes that Golson doesn't transfer, which unless he can figure out a way to graduate in May limits him to going down a division to FCS if he wants to transfer.
ND <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> In the words of Jim Carry in Dumb and Dumber....<br/> <br/> So you're telling me there's chance? <E></E></r>
I remember once when Ron Zook announced in the week before the game that because Ole Miss had such a lousy pass defense that he was going to "surprise" the Rebs by running the ball more. Well... no surprise that Ole Miss stacked the line and stuffed the run....upsetting Florida in the process. Hello.... Les Miles..... are you listening?
